Born May 5, 1900 in Richfield, Utah, to Hans Peter Jr. and Emma Annette Agnes Christensen Miller. Married Ila Ruby Casto, Manti LDS Temple, September 12, 1923. He was a farmer and carpenter most of his life. Member LDS Church, Ephraim 2nd Ward. Idaho; Malad, (Magdalene) Carl Nordmark, Mrs. Ephraim; 25 grandchildren; 34 half-brothe- rs great-grandchildre- LaRue and Miller, Venice; Charles Floyd Miller, Coulton, Oregon; Morris Miller, Layton; Lola Washburn, half-sister-s, Janus W. Miller Salt Lake City; Arthella Taylor, Fillmore. Funeral services Saturday 11 a.m. in the Ephraim 2nd LDS chapel where friends may call one hour prior to service. Interment Manti City Cemetery, under the direction of Buchanan Mortuary. Julia Lurena Eldredge Warnick Julia Lurena Eldredge War-nic- k, 90, of Pleasant Grove, died May 27, 1989 in Pleasant Grove. She was born September 2, 1898 in Granger, Utah to Freder- and Julia Druce Lambert Eldredge. She married Merrill N. Warnick, June 25, 1924 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was an active member of the IDS Church, living in the Manila 1st Ward. She held many ward and stake positions throughout her lifetime, as well as being an act-vleader for 35 years and assisting with the Utah Da ry Auxiliary and the Utah Du tv Princess contests through tin years. She attended Granite High ick E. 4-- Funeral services were 1 1 a.m. at Manila at Wednesday 1st Ward, Pleasant Grove. Burial at Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Karla Simonsen Janus Wayne Miller, 89, died May 23, 1989, at his home in Survived by his wife: son, Dr. Robert Wayne Miller, DDM, Los Palos, California; daughters, Mrs. Norman (Jeanene) Jaussi, Eldredge, Wilma L. Eldredge, Victor L. Eldredge, and Martha E. Moulton, all of West Valley City. School, where she designed the school seal, still in use. She attended the University of Utah and later taught in the Granite District. She was the Utah Mother of the Year in 1964. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Cadmus Club of Pleasant Grove. She has lived in Pleasant Grove since her marriage. She is survived by her husband, Pleasant Grove, four sons, four daughters, Merrill Eldredge Warnick, Alpine; Marilyn W. School journey with cystic fibrosis, May 25, 1989. She has left her weakened small body behind. But, oh, what a sweet spirit she has taken with her. Thank God above, she is free at last to run and skip. She has proved herself worthy of a much better life. She was born April 2, 1967 in Gunnison, Utah to Harold Clair and M. LaRae Simonsen. She lived most of her life in Manti before moving to Salt Lake City. She completed all of her schooling, except her senior year, in Manti. She completed her last few credits at SpafTord School in Salt Lake and received her Manti High School graduation certificate. She graduated from seminary while a member of the Manti 4th Ward. She worked for and received her Young Women Recognition Award. She completed four years at girls camp and performed baptisms for the dead a number of times. Karla was a diligent student and received several different awards at school. She played three musical instruments - flute, piccolo and piano. During summer breaks she played softball -- on Manti City leagues for three years. She spent a lot of her time in the University ofUtah Hospital as her lifelong fight with cystic fibrosis progressed and symptoms worsened. She made many friends there. Loved ones left behind are: her mother, M. LaRae Crisp, Manti; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Craig Smith (Marale), Castle Dale; Mrs. Donald Childs (Jolene), Gunnison; Jared Simonsen; Susan Meng, Manti; Mrs. Brad Cox (Lisa); Mrs. Gary Stevens (Bonnie); Harold Lynn Simonsen; Kerry Simonsen, Salt Lake City ; Patty Crisp, Sylmar, Calif.; Floyd Crisp, Spring City; grandparents: Que and Uenna Jones, Manti; a special friend, Shana Warren, Salt Lake. Special thanks goes to the University Hospital Cystic Fibrosis Clinic, doctors, the very dedicated Filth South nurses, and the respiratory therapists, for their loving care. Funeral services were held Wed., May 31, 1989 in the Manti Stake Center. Interment in Manti City Cemetery followed. And at commencement he will award honorary degrees to Mrs. McNeill, Senator Jake Garn, Ralph S. Blackham, former student body president, chairman of the Snow College Institutional Council and member of the Utah State Board of Regents, and Robert L. Stoddard, Snow vice president of development and college relations, who headed the Centennial campaign that raised $3,566,000 in contributions.
