Not pictured, Colleen McGuire, high game handicap. Alison Bond accepted to BYU Scholars Academy Alison Bond, daughter of Dr. Gerard C. Bond of New York and Dixie D. Bond of Fayette and a student at Gunnison Valley High School, has been accepted to the BYU Summer Scholars Academy. The acceptance is based on the recommendations of the math, science and English teachers, school counselors, test scores, grade i rw c transcripts, and past accomplish- With this acceptance, Alison is awarded a scholarship to BYU which will pay for her food and housing costs, tuition, supplies, textbooks and study materials, field trips, insurance, special activities, banquet and special features. This Summer Scholars Academy chooses the most serious and accomplished of youths, as reflected by their past and present academic performance in i hr . . , Alison Bond addition to school, civic, and church participation. The Summer Scholars Academy members will study computer graphics in engineering and technology, the wonder of human anatomy, literature, laughs and life, and the language of dance. Fishing derby Saturday, register at State Park Fremont Indian State Park will host a fishing derby on June 10 the states Free Park and Fishing Day. Participants may pre register at the Fremont Indian State Park Visitor Center from June 1 st to June 9th or may register between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. at the picnic area on the morning of June 10th. Prizes will be awarded for the first fish; biggest fish in for age limits; 3 to 6, 7 to 9, 10 to 12, and 13 to 16; and biggest combined limit (weight). The purpose of the fishing derby is to expose youth of all ages to the fun fishing can bring and promote the respect for our natural waters wilderness and surrounding lands. According to Dave Lucchesi, Assistant Pdrk Superintendent at Fremont Indian State Park, Fishing is one of the most enjoyable sports in the world. It provides healthy entertainment for all ages, and Fremont Indian State Park is a great place to bring, the kids out to fish anytime. It has good access and most of the fish are natives and will give any angler a good fight Worms, salmon eggs and flies are good bait choices. Though all entrance fees are waived and licenses are not required for this event, all limit regulations do apply.
