Nielson Johnson, 86, of Ephraim, who died Oct. 13, 1989 in the Gunnison Valley Hospital, were conducted Monday, Oct. 16 at the new Ephraim LDS Stake Center. Interment was in Ephraim Park Cemetery. Born Oct. 18, 1903 in Redmond, Utah to Christian Theodore Nelson and Anna Marie Christensen. Married C. Howard Nielson in the Manti LDS Temple March 3, 1926. He died Sept. 27, 1944. Married Elliot Johnson Sept 16, 1947. He died. Graduated from North Sevier High School. Attended Snow College. Was an active member of the LDS Church. She served a mission in the Central States Mission. She taught in Primary, MIA and Relief Society. Was a librarian in the Ephraim public library. Was employed at Auerbachs in Salt Lake City for 20 years. Officer in University Mothers Club. Volunteer at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake. Survived by children: Vail and Colleen Nielson, Ephraim; Patricia and Waynard Jensen, Moab; Julie and Ronald Bellevue, Wash.; 16 grandSta-ple- Kyle Maxwell Kyle Maxwell is the name chosen for the new arrival at the home of Dr. Gary and Kathy Fresquest in Boulder, Colorado. The husky little boy weighed 10 lbs and was born September 28, 1989 in Boulder. A brother, Marcus, 8 and a sister, Allison 5 are getting acquainted with their new brother ar home. Holding their Beautification Award plaques are: Beulah Christensen, Geneal Jorgensen, Sherron Andreason, Zeila E. Christiansen, and Beautification Chairman Genean Blauer (holding the Hodson's plaque). The Tervorts were also winners but were not available for the picture. Six plaques were presented to Ephraim residents last week as top honor winners in the Salt Shaun Allan Brinkerhoff Rodney and Janis Brinker-hof- f of Fairview announce the birth of their first son on Oct. 9, 1989. He weighed 5 lbs. 15 oz. He will be named Shaun Allan Brinkerhoff. The Brinkerhoffs also have a daughter, Molly. Grandparents are Allen and Luana Green, Ephraim and Dan and Ruth Brinkerhoff, Fairview. Maria Garbe Maria Garbe, daughter of Lewis and Janet Garbe, Manti, received her Young Woman Recognition Award Sunday, Oct 8th in the Manti 4th Ward sacrament meeting. Maria has been very active in the Young Womens program. She had held many leadership positions. She is now serving as the Laurel class president. Maria enjoys attending Manti High School where she has participated in many different activities. She has been a cheerleader for two years, a member of the drill team. She has served on the Seminary Council for the past year. This year Maria is the presidentofthe senior class. Her grandparents are Waldo Justin Alden Johansen of a son. Justin Alden Johansen was born Sept. 17, 1989 at Cottonwood, Arizona. He lbs. 6 oz. There are still a few booth spaces available. Their tree was called Music Box Dancers". It featured ballerina dolls, lace fans, candle lights, crocheted butterflies, potpourri balls and other ornaments in keeping with the December theme. A small admission fee at the door each year is used to fund this worthwhile project.
