They were married June 5, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They are the parents of eight children (7 living) and 38 grandchildren. Their children are Lloyd, Louis, Norman (deceased), Merwin, Kathleen Korinne and (Kathy), Kim, In celebration of their 50th wedding, the children, spouses and grandchildren of Lloyd and Kathleen will honor them at an open house held on Saturday, June 8, 1991, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Manti Tabernacle. The family requests no gifts please. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Stout Clayton Workman Stout and Fonda A. Petersen were married June 2, 1941, in the Manti LDS Temple. Their family will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their marriage on June 15th at the home oftheir daughter in Orem. 1st annual Founder's Day scheduled at Centerfield Centerfields first annual Founder's Day celebration will be held Sat, June 1 at the Centerfield LDS Church park. Centerfield was organized into a Town on June 1, 1908. Through the years it has had its own post office, three or four stores, a movie house, the opry house (dance hall), an elementary school, a bank, and several other businesses. There will be an all day softball tournament with a home run hitting contest. Navqjo tacos will be served from 12 noon until 1 with hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, candy, snocones and nachos, until 4 p.m. A short program will be provided starting at 2 p.m. under the canopy. A mud rally will be held in the usual place starting at 4 p.m. and refreshments will be served there. Dancing will be featured in the evening. Tutor training class set The Literacy Volunteers of America, Sanpete County announces a special tutor training session coming to Ephraim on June 6th, 7th and 8th. Hiis limited enrollment class will focus on English as a Second Language. Hie training session will be held in the Ephraim Senior Center from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on June 6 and 7, and all day on Saturday, June 8. The trainer for this session will be Mary Hausen, Director of LV.ATWasatch Front in Salt Lake City. Mary offers programs in Basic Reading, English as a Second Language, and Family Literacy. There are only 12 slots open for this training. It is free, unless tutors wish to purchase their own books. To sign up, call Jill 1 ext. 272. Hansen at 283-402- Clayton, originally from Hurricane, Utah and Fonda, from Ephraim, met and courted in Salt Lake City. They began their married life in Salt Lake, where Clayton worked at Petty Motor Co. They later moved to the Clearfield-Layto- n area. Clayton worked at Hill Field as an airplane mechanic and later was part owner and operator of Ute Motors, an automobile service station. When the opportunity came to return to Ephraim to teach auto mechanics at Snow College, they moved their family home where they have remained since that time. While Clayton taught in the Vocational Education Depart- ment and served as the adviser to the Associated Mens Student Association, Fonda managed the Snow College Bookstore. In this role, she not only provided the books, pencils, and paper for the students, but also the motherly" advice that many of the students needed their first time away from home. Since retiring, Fonda and Clayton have spent time enjoying their children and grandchildren, going fishing and traveling. Following the example of their grandparents, one granddaughter is a Snow College graduate, one is currently a student there, and a third will enroll next fall. Their marriage was later eternalized in the Manti LDS Temple. Jack retired from his position at Snow College. Hazel recently retired as librarian in the Ephraim Public Library. The Whites have six children, 26 grandchildren and Ephraim Senior Citizens Center, 85 West 100 North, Ephraim. They request no gifts please. Jack and Hazel were married. Homework for sale Its a rather unusual situation when a college student puts his annual school project up for sale, but thats what is happening now at Snow College. The building constructions project home is now completed and the school held an open house Thursday to show off the students work. This years home is 1344 square feet The house is located on Third East at 390 South in Ephraim and is completed as much as it will be before it is sold. ft-- - Some 27 Snow College students worked on this years project. The home includes a full garage, three bedrooms, one baths. It and full unfinished comes with a basement with a bathroom roughed in.
