Funeral services will be this Friday, August 9, 1991 at 12:30 p.m., Ephraim Stake Center where friends may call Thursday, 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday two hour prior to services. Interment in Ephraim Park Cemetery. A complete obituary will be published next week. A? i.. h Maria Dominique Mellor and Bruce R. Weller Mellor - Weller Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Lee Mellor of St. George, Utah, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Maria Dominique, to Bruce R. Weller, the son of Mrs. Dorothy Weller of St. George, and the late Albert E. Weller. Maria and Bruce will exchange vows on Friday, August 16 in the St George LDS Temple. They will be honored at a reception that evening from 7:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at Greene Gate Village in St. George. The bride and groom are both graduates of Dixie High School. The bride attended Dixie College. Mr. Weller is a graduate of Dixie College. He served a mission in Ecuador. The bride and groom will make their first home in the Republic of China. Anniversaries I cant believe I'm already one! My name is Melissa Dawn DeMill and today, August 8, 1991, 1 am one year old. My parents are Duane and Laura DeMill of Manti. I have a big brother Trent, who is 5. My grandparents are Fenton and Connie DeMill of Manti and Robert and Kristine McIntyre of Midvale. My Lorenza ts Brotherson Sorensen. She married Andrew Bardell Larson November 23, 1932 in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death November 3, 1991. Mrs. Larson has lived in Salt Lake City, Coalville, Cedar City, Las Vegas and Beryl before moving to St. George in 1964. She was a graduate of Southern Utah State College and taught elementary, are Que and Uenna Jones of Manti, Robert and Martha McIntyre of Kearns and Leo and Joy Hesse of Sandy. I also have a great-grandparen- and secondary education, special education and was a library specialist. She taught in Las Vegas and Mesquite, Nevada and Beryl, Utah. She was a charter member of the cedar City Literary Club. An active member of the LDS Church. She served in the Relief Society, MIA and in the St. George Temple. Gwendolyn A Starr of Sandy. Steck was the name given to the new son of Kerry and Carma Steck when he was blessed by his father Sunday, August 4th. Bryson was born Sunday, July 14, 1991 in the Sanpete Valley Hospital at Mt. Pleasant. He weighed 8 lbs. 5 oz. A sister Amanda and three brothers, Cheston, Kenley and Kelan were all happy for his arrival. Pleased grandparents are Jack and Francell Steck, Ephraim and Keith and Mary Ben and Ruth Kjar Ben and Ruth Kjar The children of Ben C. and Ruth Kjar, of Manti, are honoring their parents with an open house to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, on Saturday August 10, 1991, at the Kjar residence, 60 South 300 West, from 6 until 8 p.m. Ben and Ruth were married October 31, 1941 in the Manti LDS Temple. They are the parents of five children: Curtis B. Kjar, Manti; Maxine K. B. Bramwell, St. Joseph, Michigan; Maree K. Ohlsen, Rancho Santa Margarita, California; Lila K. Ericksen, Mt. Pleasant, Utah; and Steven B. Kjar, Manti. They have 21 grandchildren. They cordially invite all relatives, friends and neighbors to join them in this joyous occasion. Family Reunions reunion of the family of Ernest and Castella late the Bertelson Nielson was held recently in Sugarhouse Park in Salt Lake City. Members of the families of all of the Nielson children were represented Vertis and LaRue Nielson, Veone N. Hunter (Earl, deceased,) Afton A (Dean), Doris N. Larsen (MaCoy) and Shirley N. Kilgore (Earl). Numerous grandchildren from each family were also present. The Kilgores were hosts for the family party, which commemorated the 100th birthdays of Ernest and Castella. was born February 6, 1891, and Castella Ernest Nielson i Bertelson on September 5, 1891, both in Ephraim, to pioneer parents who were Danish immigrants. A pleasant afternoon was enjoyed, visiting, playing games, exchanging photos and eating a luncheon featuring a beautifully-decorate- d 100th birthday cake prepared by Sheron Larsen of Ephraim. Attending from Ephraim were Vertis and LaRue Nielson, Doris and MaCoy Larsen, Sheron Larsen with children Holly Jorgensen, Anna Leah, Eric, Lindsay and Andy John, Vance and Lorna Larsen with children Michael, Jennifer and David. Hooper, Richfield. Sydney Ann Stevens Sydney Ann Stevens is the new baby daughter at the home of Scott and Stephanie Stevens in Ephraim. She was born Monday, June 24, 1991 in the Sanpete Valley Hospital in ML Pleasant She weighed 7 lbs. 14 She has a brother, Skyler. Happy grandparents are Grant and Ann Stevens, Ephraim and Mark and Nanai ee Cook, Moroni She also has eight Morris and Betty and Leila Merrill Cook, Moroni; Larsen, Mt. She will be named Rachel and was born Tuesday, July 23, 1991 in Slidell, New Orleans. She weighed 7 lbs. 3 oz. Rachel has a sister and three brothers: Elizabeth, Ben, David and Sam. Pleased grandparents are Glenn and Barbara Bailey, Ephraim and Perry and Izola Blackham, Moroni. Jeffery McLoyd Ericksen Jeffery McLoyd Ericksen, son of John W. and Lila K. Ericksen, of Mt. Pleasant, has been called to serve in the Manchester, New Hampshire, Spanish-speakin- g Mission. He will enter the Missionary Training Center on August 14, 1991. Jeffery is a 1991 graduate of North Sanpete High School and has been active in sports, student government and academic achievement He will be speaking in sacrament meeting in the Mt. Pleasant 4th Ward at 10:45 a.m. on August 11, 1991. He is the grandson of Ben and Ruth Kjar of Manti and Clean-u- p McLoyd and Marge Ericksen of Ephraim. Ephraim City makes plans for Card of Thanks Day Monday, August 19th has been designated by Ephraim City as Clean-uDay. All residents are encouraged to do a final summer work day in cleaning p Midland, Texas; one daughter, Ruth Ann Worthen and two brothers, Ronald and Kenneth Sorensen, preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Aug.2, 1991 in St. George. The family of Maurice S. Nielsen would like to express our appreciation for the many kindnesses shown to fos at the passing of our husband and father. We appreciate the visits, cards, food, floral arrangements and all the love shown to the family at this time. Graveside services were also held August 3, 1991 at the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery. Ruth S. Larson Ruth Elma Sorensen Larson, age 79, died Tuesday, July 30, 1991 at the Dixie Regional Medical Center in St George. She was bom September 18, 1911 in Ephraim, Utah to Hyrum - Rising Federal and beautifying hisher surroundings. All rubbish, (not regular garbage) should be piled in the street by Monday evening. Tuesday morning City trucks will haul the rubbish away. The day is in preparation for the judging of city lots for the Tidy Town contest which will be done the last week in August.
