While serving as the Artistic Director and Founder of the Central Utah Ballet School, felt the need to form a small amateur troup of dancers to perform an annual holiday tradition of the NUTCRACKER. This young company has served as a showcase for student dancers and pioneered into the small center of our Sanpete County, bringing classical dance to those who, because of living in a small regional center, had been denied exposure to the NUTCRACKER classics. Such were the beginnings of The , i , ballet, as well as other Central Utah Ballet Nutcracker, a corporation. Now in our third holiday season, we maintain our high level of commitment to you, our audience, and thank you for your support. The NUTCRACKER, a fairy tale for the Christmas season, is perhaps the most popular ballet for audiences of all ages. Written by Petipa with Tschaikovskys famous score, the ballet in two acts was first performed in Russia in 1892. The choreography has beenhanded down from teacher to student for nearly a century now, and would very much like to thank those directors, choreographers and teachers that have so generously given to me. This year I would like to thank Mark Lanham, a colleague and personal friend, for his inspiration with the Snowflakes, the parents of our dancers, my staff, family, and many others ... this could have never been done without you I ever-favori-te full-leng- ft non-prof- it Come Enjoy the I Ballet! I Thank you for helping make this dream come true for so manyl Have a NUTCRACKER Christmasl - Vivian Kosan Bagnall L If |
