The Manti WlNpoWiBlIiNDS City Clean-u- p Week will be April 20 to 25 with the City pick up of your trash on the 25th. Also coming up, according to Don Cofer, Manti City Beautification Committee Chairman, will be the citys participation in the Tidy Town Program. This is a program which rewards towns the size of Manti for reaching specific clean-u- p goals. More specific details on this will be released later. Something else that the Beautification Committee will be involved in is the promotion of Adopt-A-Spwhich will be under the direction of Helen Dyreng. This is a program where you as an individual, or your group, can adopt a small spot of city land to plant flowers, lawn, or beautify as you or your group wishes. If you would like to be among the first individuals or groups to participate, contact Helen Dyreng for details. And believe it or not, you or your group will get the credit for adopting a spot. You can adopt a little spot for a lot of fun and make Manti even prettier in the process, Mr. Cofer said. Parents were also surveyed on their feelings about a new school calendar for 1992-93- . This 15 would add proposed calendar to minutes each school day and thus change the total days from 180 to 172. This would allow the schools to begin after the fair in the fall (Sept. 2) and get out before Memorial Day, May 28. Results of the survey showed that 87 favored the 172 day calendar; 10 wanted it to remain the same and 1 favored other options.
