Theyll all come to fruition tonight at 9:15 on Temple Hill in the first nights rendition of the 1992 Mormon Miracle Pageant. As dusk descends on Temple Hill, there will be introductory remarks, an invocation, the advancement of the colors and the singing of the National Anthem. Elder Tom Perry will offer the prayer, a Utah National Guard unit will conduct the flagceremony and Dr. Lee W. Thurston will sing the Star Spangled Banner. And thus the Mormon Miracle Pageant will open its 26th season. After tonight, other performances will fdlowon July lOand 11 and again on July six booths in tie Temple grounds perimeter. Val Anderson is chairman of those food services. Hie Manti Stake will serve roast beef and barbecued turkey dinners on pageant evenings between 5 and 8. Breakfasts will also be available the mornings following performances at the Manti City Park and the Tabernacle. Dr. Thurston's rendition oftheNational Anthem tonight will be followed by that of Robert Tibbs on July 10 and Barbara Barton July 11. The audience will be invited to participate in this rendition. They will again tell the familiar story of inspiration and persecution and martyrdom, of the western movement to Deseret and of settlements and building and growth. And along with its historical record, major elements of LDS theology are interwoven. Hie basic storyline of the pageant has ' continued unchanged. Miss I Ieidi Christiansen was crowned Miss Fourth of July in the Miss Fourth of July Pageant held July 3. She is the daughter of Kristine Christiansen. Liz Clayton was selected as first attendant and Nikki Howe as second attendant. Liz is the daughter of Gary and Sandi Clayton and Nikki is the daughter of Rick and Eileen Howe. t The contestants were judged on interview, speeches and modeling.
