Bom March 20, 1948 in Cedar City, Utah to LaRoy and Geneva Prisbrey Stapley. Married Clare Marie Fjeldsted of Centerfield on October 11, 1969, later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He grew up in Toquerville, Utah, where he attended school. He graduated from Hurricane High School, served an LDS mission in the Northern California Mission. They will be hon vows LDS Missions Jennifer Elaine Willden Jennifer Elaine Willden was born March 7, 1993 in the Gunnison Valley Hospital. She weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. and was 19 12" long. Parents are Steven and Anona Willden. Grandparents are Kim and Evelyn Jensen, Lewis and Elaine Mullins of Manti and Steven and Cindy Willden of Gunnison. Great grandparents are Anona and Bill Cavner of Manti and Ruth and Bert Willden of Ephraim. Travis R. Thompsonhas been called to serve in the Switzerland Zurich Mission, German speaking. He is the son of Leland and Phyllis Thompson of Ephraim. Travis is a graduate ofManti High School and the Manti Seminary program. He has attended Snow College the past two quarters. Travis will speak at a farein the Ephraim 3rd Ward on Sunday, March 21 at 12:15 p.m. He will enter the Missionary Training Center on April 7. well Kalob Vaun A special singles fireside for regional singles will be held on Sunday, March 21 inEphraim at 10 South Main, the Ephraim Ward building. The speaker will be Priscilla Ashbocker of Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Ashbocker was born in Georgian Bay in the hamlet of Honey Harbor. Poulson Funeral services for Virginia Peterson Anderson, 82, who died March 12, 1993 at her home in Sterling, were held March 15 in the Sterling Ward chapel. She was bom June 2, 1910 in Sterling, to Charles and Maria Whitlock Petersoa MarriedJohn Lindon Anderson in Sterling, Utah January 22, 193 1; later solemnized in the Manti Temple. She worked as an inspector for Carlisle Manufacturing Company for 20 years. Active member of the LDS Church. She was noted for her beautiful quilts which she gave to her many friends and family. Survived byherhusbandjfive sons and three daughters: Rob- ert L., Bonnie Smith, Judy Barrett, Clair L., all of Salt Lake City; Phylis V. Smith, Tooele; Buddy J., Erda; Eugene, Marcell Josephine Peterson Poulson, Ephraim, 86, passed away March 12, 1993. She was bom March 8, 1907 Springville; CharlesBenny, Sterling, 25 grandchildren; 35 great- at Ephraim, Utah, a daughter of Clarence and Orpa Jorgenson Peterson. She was the oldest of grandchildren; two brothers, Lucien Peterson of Sterling, and 12 children. He is survived by his wife and four children; Garth, Clay and Gayle of Ephraim and Mrs. Patrick (Richelle) Neeley of Salt Lake City, mother and father, two brothers, Keith (Marcene) of Helena, Montana, Alan (Sally) of Chester, four nieces and four v , Vaun and Ariann Christensen are pleased to announce the birth of a son, Kalob Vaun Christensen on March 2, 1993 in the Gunnison Valley Hospital He weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces. Avery excited sister, Janessa, welcomes her new baby brother, along with grandparents, Larry and Chiyo Christensen of Centerfield and Rich and Naomi Congdon of Ephraim. In An Emergency Dial "91 1" She served as president and teacher in the Primary of the LDS Church; also as president, work director, visiting teacher and visiting teacher supervisor in the Relief Society, and as a teacher in the Sunday School. She also served on the stake Relief Society board. She was a member of the Daughters ofUtah Pioneers, and served as vice president in that organization. During her service in that organization, she helped preserve many important things pertaining to her pioneer heritage. She was an ordinance worker in the Manti LDS Temple from May, 1974 to July, 1989. Many in Ephraim and surrounding communities have been recipients of her beautiful quilts, afghans, doibread lies, hot pads, home-mad- e and cinnamon rolls. She loved to ride horses and rode at least once a year until she was 83 years of age. She had a profound love of the gospel and deep gratitude and love for the Savior. She is survived by three DeVere Leon Thomson Services for DeVere Leon Thomson of Arvada, Colo, were held March 4, 1993 in Arvada, Colo. He passed away Feb. 28, 1993 at the Lutheran Medical Center, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, at the age of 78. DeVere was bom in Ephraim, Utah on March 27, 1914 to Tho- mas Leonard Thomson and Esther Lund Thomson. His father and mother were both educators in the Ephraim area. He attended the University ofUtah, Texas A & M, Lowell Technical Institute, Lowell, Mass.; and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, Mass. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus ChristofLatter-da- y Saints, servingin many priesthood leadership positions, including the Stake High Council in Cleveland, Ohio. He married Madelyn Kotter on Oct 6, 1936 in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints. y His career started as a shoe salesman in private enterprise, then as Assistant Store Manager for Edison Brothers Shoes, Inc. He then served over three years during World War n in the Navy as an instructor in special de of Thanks I Card Marcell Poulson daughters and one son and their spouses: Bonnie andDean Clark, Ogden; Norma and Daiyl Davis, Payson; Marilyn and David Pedersen, Spring City; and Junior Poulson, Ephraim; 15 grandchildren and 34 five sisters and two brothers: Esther Bailey, Ephraim;Ada Anderson, LaVee Cobley and Sena Moss, all of Orem; Kenna great-grandchildre- n; Christensen, Midvale; Leo Peterson, Ephraim; and Elmo Petersen of St George. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Keith; a grandson; two great-grandson- a s; great-granddaught- two brothers and a sister. Services were held Tuesday, March 16, 1993 at 11 a.m. in the Ephraim Stake Center. Interment We wish to express our deepest thanks to our many friends and family for their kindness, comfort and thoughtfulness at the death of our dear wife and mother, Virginia Anderson. For the delicious food which was brought to the house, the lovely luncheon after the services, the beautiful flowers, sympathy cards, phone calls and personal visits. We also wish to extend our gratitude to the EMTs for their promptness and medical attendance; and to Buchanan Mortuary for the professional and personal manner in which they handled the funeral arrangements. Lindon Anderson and Family 0 was in the Ephraim City Cemetery under the direction of Walker Mortuary in Payson, training men to go into combat After the war, he returned to EdisonBrothers, where he became the store manager of the Ogden, Utah store. He was later transferred to Minneapolis, Minn., then on to Denver, Colo. In 1960, he was promoted to regional manager. In January 1967 he was named a regional manager for stores in Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. After 40 years in the retail shoe business, he retired on March 7, 1977 to enjoy closer associations with family and hobbies such as golf, tennis, hunting, fishing, lapidary, bridge, travel and time with his wife, daughters and husbands, and three grandchildren. DeVere is survived by his wife, Madelyn; two daughters, vices, Margo (Mrs. R.
