Her mother died when of causes incident to she was age. After graduation from Manti High School, Elga attended and graduated from Snow Junior College with a degree in Education. She then taught second grade in Centerfield, Utah. Elga married George Calvert Larsen June 29, 1932 in the Manti LDS Temple. The remainder of her life was lived in Ephraim. She held many positions in the LDS Church, including ward and stake Young Womens MIA president; Relief Society teacher, visiting teacher and secretary, Primary teacher and Ward speech and drama director.
