Would that give Ephraim native, Tyler Bolli, a chance at some play time? That would all depend upon the condition of his leg, which was injured a week before the Texas A&M game. 1c tore a hamstring during a practice scrimmage. Tyler Bolli, son of Gerhard p 1 and Melodie Bolli, graduated from Manti High School in 1990. While at Manti High School, he lettered in football, basketball, and track. In both his junior and senior years, he played and He was recognized as region MVP during his senior year. He also won state championship in the 300 meter hurdles his senior year. After one year at BYU, where he redshirted (meaning he was a part of the team for practices, but did not dress for games), he served a mission in Halifax, Canada. Upon his return, he played for BYU in 1993, 1994 and 1995, lettering a total of three years. In 1994, he married Brooke Stanton (who holds the BYU school record in the 400 meters at 54.64). Being able to play college football after graduation is rather a unique situation. NCAA regulations allow a student to play for five yearsseven years if a student serves a mission. This is Tylers final year with the Cougar Football Team. The first half went scoreless for Arkansas until the last two seconds, when they pushed for a field goal and three points against the Cougars slaughter of 24 points. The second half started off with the Cougar momentum unbroken with a touchdown less than one minute into third-quartplay, to taking the score to BYU-3- 1 3. ASUs Two minutes later, an- - other touchdown was scored, but a penalty voided the effort. This doesnt count two other touchdowns that were lost due to other penalty calls during the game. After last weeks teeter-tottgame with Texas A&M, which er w'as sparsely attended, this weeks game was attended by 63,68 fans, most of whom stayed through to the end, even though the outcome was a foregone conclusion by the beginning of the second half. ASU simply failed to put up any resistance to the Cougar offensive. In the end, BYU totally eclipsed Arkansas with a whopping 58 to 9 final score. And Tyler Bolli did get onto the field for one play, but the injury has not had sufficient healing time to handle competitive play. He hopes to recover to see more action. Since Manti High School is coming up on its Homecoming next week, Tyler had a special message to his alma mater, and to his younger brother who plays on 1 MHSs football team: College play is great -- - the media, and the recognition, and everything. But 1 Manti began the game deep in their own territory and quickly had to punt the ball away, giving the Eagles good field position for their first offensive possession. Even though Manti was unable to move the ball in the first two quarters of play, the defense was able to hold Duchesne scoreless in the first half. Manti gave the Eagles excellent field position in the 2nd half opening kickoff and Duchesne quickly scored on four plays which ended in a TD pass.
