In order to start homecoming with a bang the homecoming committee decided to have a hall decorating contest. Each class had a sign up sheet for volunteers wanting to help. But this was not like other activities during homecoming week. If you did not get excused from any school to participate, you had to give up your Saturday afternoon. Students started to show up at about noon. The school provided poster paper, markers, tape, crepe paper, and scissors if you needed anything else you had to provide it. You were on your own. You could design your own wall and put up anything you wanted to represent your class.
