The story is about a modem day likeness of David and Goliath. The Philistines were a rowdy culture. Everyone feared their a mighty Goliath named Michael. So army (mostly of one) with n arsenal of endorsements, a was his he, arrogant dollar contract and a tract record of regular season victories, as well as four challenges to his citys standing as most feared, most terrible and most unbeatable. He and his 1 1 assistants dispatched these four opponents quite handily. Finally, an army from the desert, with the smallest man known to participate in these battles among its ranks, stepped forward as the fifth challenger to the Philistines. They were focused and humble. Statements like, We aint done nothin yet, were frequently heard as they w on a blow-ovictory against other armies on their way to fight against the Philistines. Contrast that to statements by GoliathMichael after only the first victory against the desert warriors; he was already considering that he had won five High School. Wails are being cleaned or painted, carpets are being scrubbed, desks sit empty in the corridors. Time for the final column of this year. The Philistines knew nothing of humility and respect. Members of their army, including their general (coach) repeatedly blasted the desert warriors and their people for their clean, hardworking lifestyles, the way the people adored their wariors with loud cheers and celebrations, and even ridiculed their race and religious beliefs. Sadly the desert warriors temporarily forgot who they were in the shadow of this mighty Goliath and his assistants. And they lost a hard fought battle worthy of the respect of their opponents. But it seems that the Philistines have also forgotten their bible history. They are already bragging about their sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth championships as if this was a sweep! We can only hope that five little stones (plus seven more warriors named Stock-toequally deadly) in the form of rock-soli- d Russel and Malone, Homacek, Tag remember that Goliath was felled by the smallest, most humble and most believing of the league.
