Mormon Miracle Pageant will have new director next year After nine years of devoted service to the Mormon Miracle Pageant, the release of director Ronald D. I tail, by Area President Ben B. Banks was announced Sunday during the cast devotional. Assistant directors Don Ray Olsen and Todd Jorgensen were released by President D. Jay ClufT. The mayor said that he was pleased to report that the gun was working efficiently but added that he might not have made the report at all except that he was issued a warning instead of a ticket. Public Works Director Dale Nielson said that it had been necessary to close the city pool be cause of a major problem ith the heating system. "We are working on the problem. he said, but it is such that the pool may have to remain closed for the season. Mr. Nielson also reported that annual road chipping is scheduled for July and preliminary road repair will begin vv ithin the next two weeks. He said that the water in the creeks and ditches had reached its peak from runoff a couple of w eeks ago and that, because of the great effort of local citizens to clean out the waterways, any flooding had been avoided. Council member Nita Madsen reported that the Beautification Committee had planted nine trees along the vv est side of the cemetery. They had some problems vv ith the installation of the trees but will vv seek expert advice to resolve the situation. Mrs. Madsen added that a Junior Youth Council is underway and isalready involved in several work projects. Ephraim City has requested that there be a mutual support sy set up for trash collection ser-- v ices. Ephraim currently has a contract for trash pickup w ith a firm but are strongly considering incorporating this service into their city operations. They would like to make a reciprocal arrangement vv ith Manti to provide backup for each community as needed on each citys equipment.
