Dated this 2nd day of June, By T. Michael Liddell To introduce my essay, I will define the terms. Blacks Law Dictionary defines voting as The expression of ones will, preference, or choice formally manifested by a constituency or a body of qualified electors in regard to passing laws, or the selection of an officer or representative. It defines privilege as, A particular and peculiar benefit or advantage enjoyed by a person, company, or class, beyond the common advantages of other citizens. It also defines Responsibility as, The state of being answerable for an obligation, and indicates judgement, skill, ability, and capacity. I agree with all this and I firmly believe that voting is a privilege and a great responsibility. It is an awesome power -- one that could possibly shape the fate of our community, our country, even our world. It is a power that must not be abused. Our responsibility is to not take voting for granted. John Wesley said, Act as if the whole election depended on your single vote. This is ex- when I can be involved in the pocellent advice. When we dont vote and have the chance to, then I think we should not criticize the people in office. If we do vote for the best and they lose I guess that is what the majority of the citizens of the country w ant.
