Winfield sought to have the payment lowered to $1,200 a month, but State District Judge Joe Spurlock denied the request Friday, said Houston attorney Earle Lilly, who represents the 11-year-old girl eeat and her mother, Sandra Renfro. Renfro and Winfield are still battling in court over whether their four-year relationship in the 1980s constituted a common-law marriage. Renfro said it did, but Winfield has said he never intended to marry her. A trial on that matter is set to begin July 1 in Houston.
