Scholarship Winner Aims for Perfection She is a perCLEARFIELD fectionist who thinks it is more important to please herself than it is to please others. She knows she could turn assignments in and get by with minimum work. But then she wouldnt be satisfied, knowing she didnt do her best. She is Anne Rowley, one of two recipients of a National Basketball ; Association scholarship awarded by the .Utah Jazz. She said she likes being involved in if , life to its fullest, because youre not, she said. a lot, youre really missing J Sometimes she gets too involved, which is discouraging because she doesnt have much free time to visit . friends and do other things she doesnt do, she said. - One of the hardest things for her has been budgeting her time. But she said it is becoming easier. Sometimes she gets so busy she forgets things. Maybe Im spreading myself too thin, but, then again, I must like it or I wouldnt keep doing it, she said. ' Budgeting her time is a must. After a full day of school, she begins another 1 . ENTIRE STOCK L, full day. One typical day after school starts with working on scenery for a school play. Next, she illustrates a short story she wrote. The story is to be entered in a regional contest. Its a story written for children, so they can read it and not have to have it read to them, she said. Next, she Works on her AP art portfolio. Her AP, advanced placement, art portfolio is part of a test that, if passed, will give her college credit toward art. As Clearfields student body artist, she paints for the school. She has painted 8x4 foot murals of the school mascots in her region. She also paints for, homecoming and scenery and decorates banners. After working on her portfolio, she practices for a regional drama contest. Its a mono act and I have to practice my lines, blocking and expressions, she said. Although her first choice is Harvard-Radclishe wouldnt be disappointed with any of the three, she said. Miss Rowley has many accomplishments. She is a delegate to the National Club Congress, youth chairman for the regional March of Dimes, Voice of Democracy - Essay Contest winner for her region, National PTSA Reflections Contest winner, and valedictorian of her class.
