Jones showed a history of works performed by CCC members in Emery County. Jones made his first presentation of the history in the 6th grade and spent more than 25 hours interviewing former CCC men around the area. The program earned him 1 st place in the History Fair in the region, first place in the state and 5th place in the National gram on the Civilian Conservation Corp before the Emery County Historical Society. The society honored the veteran during their Nov. 8 meeting. Jones, 13, gave a presentation on the corp, which was created in 1933 by President Franklin Roosevelt. The CCC provided work for young men without work during the De- pression. Members of the CCC built roads, planted trees and performed a variety of public service projects.
