Show October 2002 United Way & Volunteer Center 1 1 Castle Valley Center Prom Dart Each year the Community Volunteer Center sponsors a prom for the students at the Castle Valley Center. The prom is held in April for the celebration of National Youth Service Day (NYSD). The school provides training for the youth volunteers to increase their knowledge of working with people with disabilities. In turn, the volunteers decorate for the event, help do students hair and makeup, provide By Emily promenade escorts and clean up after the fun. Carbon High has donated the decorations from their prom to the Castle Valley Center Prom for the past three years and various other businesses donate flowers, refreshments and the extras to make the day extra special. We are grateful for all these people do. The collaborative efforts of many people within the community have made the prom a success in the past, and the future proms are guaranteed to be even more fun. In fact, because of the number of volunteers we have interested in participating in this project, we are having to limit the number we can include this year. In order to earn the privilege of participation, volunteers need to contact our office and be involved in projects throughout the entire year. The next prom will be held in April.
