Show (S Winter Sports Guide November 2002 Carbon High Dino divers making waves in Region 8 competiton The Carbon High diving team looks forward to an exciting and successful season this year. Although most of the divers are new and unexperienced, they are learning fast and possess incredible talent which should lead the team to the state Broadbear, Nick Nielson and Michael Glasson. As the practice season continues, each of these athletes have shown constant improvements and continue to grow into state qualifing divers. This marks the first year that Anderson has competed in diving. According to Foster, the ninth grade athlete is diving perfectly and should have a good first year in the high finals this year. Returning diver Derek Potter is expected to finish in the top 10 in the state according to coach school event. In fact, Anderson placed 15th over all in her first ever meet earlier in the month. Stewart Foster. Newcomers to the team this year include LynD Anderson, Cora For Broadbear, this is her first year competing in the sport of div- ing. As competition draws near, Broadbear sharpens up her skills and is expected to be a strong athlete for the Dinos. Nielson and Glasson are also warming up for the season which will be their first year participating in the event. Foster explains that each athlete is willing to learn and that there should be no problem with each diver qualifing for the state meet at the end of the season. The Dinos will host their only home meet Dec. 7 at the Price City will begin at indoor pool. Warm-up- s 10 a.m. and will be followed by competiton at 11 a.m. The event is sure to be exciting and packed with action. Although the Dino team is small in terms of numbers, they will have no problem making a big splash in the state rankings this year.
