WHAT IS amazing about Boykin, is that he's only been playing basketball for three years now. But despite the lack of experience, big Greg nearly became Clearfield's top rebounder for the year. If he had of played all the varsity games, he certainly would have been tops. bank Greg was a terror with his shot which Box Elder found out when he poured in 28 points in one night against them. For the year he finished with a highly respectable 67 percent shooting percentage from the turn-aroun- d FORWARDS field. THE FALCONS will certainly have a lot m build around next season with Greg around . Ryan Smith Ryan Smith' era has come , The Davis High to a close, at least as far as Dart basketball is concerned. The Davis High fortunes probably would have never been the same without him. FOR THE year. Smith was again the leading assist man and in Mike Gardner's eyes was the finest defensive player. But all that didn't come about because of super talent, but rather took place with sheer desire and determination. There's probably 25 players in the county with more talent, but none who came to play with the kind of desire Smith represented. This is the second straight year that Smith team. has been elected to the ty It was not a year when county teams ruled the state games, although. Clearfield did finish with an impressive third place, but local fans were treated to some not contested games because of the outstanding play of these players. Steve Sargent Always striving for perfection and nearly getting there, was Davis Steve Sargent. The forward was never afraid to battle inside with the best of 'em. SARGENT finished the season as the Dart's 6-- 3 leading scorer, being able to get the points from both inside and out. He finished the season also as one of Davis leading rebounders. For league play, Sargent ended with a 14.2 scoring average which was fourth in Region Four. Steve ended the year with a bang. In the final game against Olympus. Sargent ended the game with 20 rebounds and 18 points which is just the way he personally wanted it like. Girls State Hal Schofield Is MVP CLEARFIELD - In glancing over Clearfield High's truely respectable basketball season of 1984, the most difficult thing would be to single out any individual as a Most Valuable Player.
