Craig Dies After Long Illness By NORMA PREECE 544-875- Ruth Turner and her sister Maijorie Turner of Salt Lake City have returned from a 16 day tour of New Zealand and Australia. En route home they spent time at Hawaii. Dr. and Mrs. Ross Phillips and their three daughters Ann Marie, Sharon and Marilee have returned from a trip to Florida. They vacationed at Miami Beach while Dr. Phillips attended medical meetings. Mr. and Mrs. Dick White- - of Whittier, Calif. SHE HAD four grandchi10 greatg- and ldren randchildren. Also surviving are one stepson and one stepdaughter, Jay D. Craig, Hailey, Ida. and Mrs. Verl (Beth) Williams of Layton. THERE ARE 11 and 18 ANNA GAY CRAIG 1 1 Dies At Age 47 Richard Robert Aten. 47. of E., Centerville, died Monday, Oct. 3, 1983 in the St. Benedict's Hospital in Ogden of cancer. SURVIVING are his widow of Kaysville. two sons and one MR. ATEN w as born May 3, 1936 in St. Peters Township. Pa., a son of Robert Charles and Gertrude Platte Aten. Coraopolis. Pa., one stepson. Steven David Daner, Kavs-vill- 876 S. 200 in the Layton 23rd LDS Ward y Chapel will Bishop Phil officiating. The family prayer was given by Rex Layton, prelude and postlude music, Shirley Williams; invocation, Bishop Eck-ersle- Mrs. Anna Gay Brown Haycock Craig, 89, of 367 E. 1000 N., Layton died Thursday, Oct. 6, 1983 at her home after an extended illness. SHE WAS born Sept. 18, Nephi, a daughter of William Hartshorn and Anna Dowty Parson Brown. On April 5, 1912 she married John Henry Haycock in Nephi. He died in 1947. She married Carl David Craig on June 18, 1954 in Layton. 1894 in SHE HAD lived in Nephi until 1941 when she moved to Ogden where she lived until 1954. She has lived in Layton since that time. She was employed at the Ogden Arsenal during World War II. WAS a member of the Layton 23rd Ward. She had served as a Primary teacher, a Relief Society visiting teacher and stake missionary. Surviving are her husband of Layton, two daughters, Mrs. Joe (Ruby) Kersh of Roy and Mrs. Farrell (Melba) Winn Mr. and Mrs. Dean Sheffield at Lake Powell. Mrs. Natalie Bowman entertained at a miscellaneous bridal shower at her home on Thursday evening in honor of Miss Kathy Lyman who will spent last week boating Robert R. Aten Also surviving are one brother and three sisters, Douglas Brown and Mrs. Olive Cowan, both of Nephi; Mrs. Martin (Berta) Stressman, Layton; and Mrs. Elvira Allen of Pay son. FUNERAL services were held Tuesday, Oct. 1 sides spent a week in California w ith their son and his family, Attorney and Mrs. Jim Whitesides. He w as reared and educated in Pennsylvania and had lived in Kaysville the past four years. He served several years in the U.S. Naval Reserve. Shirley Williams; speaker, Pres. Pa.; and Sally Suzanne Aten. ALSO Sl'RMMNG are his parents of Bella Vernon. Pa., and one brother, Eugene Aten of Escondido, Calif. Funeral services and burial were held at Coraopolis, Pa. FUNERAL WAS under the direction of Lindquists Kaysville Mortuary, np Nov. 12 to Kyle Sprague. Kathy is the daughter be married of Mr. and Mrs. Stan Lyman. Ten guests attended. Clifford Elliott and wife Lyle of Fruit Heights spent eight days last w eek in Denv er, Colo, where they attended the third Armoured Division Association of World War 11 national conv ention. The convention was held from Sept. t. I. Mr. Elliott is serving as the national president of the association. He was pleased to report in the 36 years the association has been meeting annually. the largest group ever to attend was this year with a record crowd of 13(H) at the banquet. Mrs. Linda Ross and daughter Kelly went to Colorado w here they visited w ith her sister Mrs. Diana Cnristensen lor four days in Montrose. They spent time vacationing at Grand Junction and Silverton. during their stay Mr. and Mrs. John Murdock took his old mother Mrs. Effie Murdock along with his sister. Mrs. Mary Strand and an aunt Mrs. Myrle Morton all of Salt Lake City to Jackson Hole, Wyo., to visit for five days w ith Mr. and Mrs. Brent Murdock and family. Brent is a son of Mr. and Mrs John Murdock. They visited in Yellowstone National Park. Mrs. Collen Hawkes spent two days last week in Burley, Ida. with her brother Carmen Pearson. Mr. and Mrs. Casper G. Carroll attended the wedding and reception of his grand niece Debra Spencer who was married Friday, Sept. 30 to William Shane Cullimore in Heber City. Debra is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Spencer. The wedding was held at the home of her parents. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Richardson were their grandmother Janae Cur- tis who is attending Ricks College at Rexburg, Ida. Ora Lyn Richardson of BYU also visited along with Mr. and Mrs. Jared Richardson and family, Kaysville and Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Richardson of Bountiful. The first heir to the family to name is a son bom Sept. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cheney of Farmington. He weighed in at 7 lb. 8 oz. and was named Jonathan James. 1 At home is a sister Kamie. Dr. Ute Knowlton of Kaysville and Slate Representative will speak on "The Legislative Process. OCT. 29, annual Jaycee and JCK Halloween Party. Nov. 9, Tom Johnson will speak on Family Financial Planning. NOV. 19, Model Legislature at State Capitol in Salt Lake City. Pres. Richard Diehl expressed his appreciation to the three Jaycee members who escorted the mentally handicapped children to Hogle Zoo for an outing. This project was sponsored by the Kaysville Jaycees as a service project. AUSTIN Chiles, a Jaycee member conducted an excellent "Individual Development (ID) project on communications. His handouts on "Active Listening" and "I mes- sages" were distributed to members during their Sept. 28 meeting. Pres. Diehl encourages all Jaycees to bring a friend to their meetings and let them see how the Jaycees function and encourage them to become members of this fine organization. They need more membership. np Layton FFA Busy - The Layton FFA chapter has been very LA'iTON busy thiv past month. ST ARTING with the trip to the state fair on Sept. 12 and on to the opening social on Sept. 20 at which a monthly meeting of the club was held. Dinner was served and entertainment was by a duet of chapter members. Iroy Sorenson and Brett Olesen. During that week the chapter also made a float for Layton High School's Homecoming parade, taking an honorable mention in the float competition. COMING EVENTS include the Harvest Ball, the UFA Sweetheart Contest and Snow College Field Day. More about these activities will be published at a later date. BURIAL was in the Nephi Cemetery where short services were held at 3 p.m. The grave was dedicated by a grandson, John Winn. Pallbearers were grandsons and Joseph sons-in-la- Kersh, Allen Haycock, Alma Haycock, Dean McDonald, John Winn, Randy Winn and Jhn Percell. Succumbs At 81 Andriano Angelo Bellucci, 81, of 2247 W. 5900 S Roy, died Friday, Sept. 30, 1983 at the Humana Hospital Davis North of cancer. HE WAS born Aug. 19, 1902 in San Demetrio Corone Cosenza, Italy, a son of Constants and Mari Angela Sarpa Bellucci. He married Moristana Cas-sot- Jersey City, N.J. in a in 1932. She died May 2, 1967. HE HAD lived in El Monte, Calif., most of his adult life and had lived in Roy for the past three months. He was a member of the Catholic Church. HE WAS retired as a certified welder for the state of California. Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Andriano Bellucci, Jr., Roy; Robert Bellucci.
