In My Grandmothers Garden by greatRyt-tin- SHE WAS born Sept. 4, 1890 in Layton, a daughter of Henry and Nancy Emaline Young King Thornley. On Sept. 23, 1908 she married Henry Sturton Smedley in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died July 19, 1963. SHE WAS a lifelong resident of Layton. She was a member of the Layton LDS 18th Ward. She had been a Relief Society Visiting Teacher and a Primary teacher. SHE WAS noted for her beautiful crocheted work and for her attractive flowers. Surviving are one son and five daughters, Walter L. Smedley, Mrs. Richard S. (Vera) Evans, both of Layton; Mrs. James F. (Melva) Sheffield, Kaysville; Mrs. J.M. (Aliene) Pantone, Ogden; Mrs. School, Rupert, Ida. She later moved to Los Angeles, Calif. Baldwin Emerich, 69, of Kaysville, died Sunday, June 26, 1983 at the Humana Davis North Hospital in FUNERAL services were Layton. MRS. EMERICH was born. 17, 1914 in Indianapolis, Ind. , a daughter of Harvey and Mary Olgaslager Baldwin. . She married Carl M. Emerich in 1933. He died April 28, 1977. traveling to Tokoyo, Japan, the Philippines and Washington D.C. on assignments with the Peace Corps. Ron is a former Kaysville resident and is employed with Social Service Department in Alaska. Visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Ho ward Cloward are his sister, Mr. and Mrs. George Ruegg and son Mark of Akron, Ohio. They came to attend the Cloward Family reunion that will be held Sunday, July 1 1 in Murray. Other guests of the Clowards will be Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ruegg and family of Boston, Mass. Mrs. Linda Leonard of Farmington entertained at a personal bridal shower for family members honoring Miss Jodi Bourne of Kaysville. Twenty guests attended. South Weber Drive, South Weber, recently was presented his Eagle Scout rank advancement at a special Eagle Court of Honor. RUSTY IS a student at Sunset Junior High School. He just completed his 7th grade year. In school, he participated on the wrestling team and on the track and field team. He went on to the district meet in w rest-lin- moving from Bloomington, Ind. to Delaware to make their home w here he has accepted a new position. Funeral services were held Friday at noon, July 1, at the Lindquists Kaysville Mortuary Chapel for Mrs. Katie Jones Ware, 72, of 30 W. Crestwood Road, Kaysville, who died Tuesday, June 28, 1983 in the Humana Davis North Hospital in Layton.
