Only two citizens took the time to write us a letter. Both expressed their view points very well. Layton citizens might do well to read their letters and consider the points they made. Additional responses are welcome. This letter is to express my views concerning the change in the library service for Layton resident. I DO not like the change and would like to see the city rejoin the county system. Also, I am not in favor of Layton building its own facility at this time. The present library in Clearfield does not seem over used, at least from my observation. It is as convenient a location for many Layton residents as the location of the proposed new city library, and certainly more convenient then for residents of cities to the north and west of Layton. S s si si s si I DO not feel that Layton needs a city library. The cost would be prohibitive at best. It would seem that no one on the countil even attempted to examine the costs involved in building a library, stocking it and hiring a staff to operate it. A good example of a library that doesnt really fill the needs of the community is the Kaysville City Library. It is my opinion that an si si si si s si eff- d icient, countywide library system is one of the best ways to operate.
