Collett, 78, (U.S.Air Force, retired) of 69 S.400E., Kays ville, died June 30, 1982 in a Clearfield nursing home of chronic leukemia. He was horn July 18, 1903 in Vernal, Ut., a son of Adelbert T. and Harriet Goodrich Collett. He married Carol Ivins on June 8, 1927 in Salt Lake City. Heights to make their home. They are former Kaysville re- sidents. Mr. and Mrs. Max Bishop in Kalama, Wash, with their son, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bishop. They went to attend their grandsons graduation from high school. Max Bishop II (their grandson) received a scholarship to DeBry Institute of Technology in Phoenix, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Crawley and their two daughters, Mr. spent eight days when he was called to active duty with the Air Force, he retired from the Air Force in 1957 and returned to Kaysville. He was first assigned to Monthan AFB in Tucson, and Mrs. Joe Winter of Anz. and had served at several other air bases in the U.S. He served in the Pacific war theater as a deputy commander of Pocatello, Ida., and Mr. and Mrs. Don Munson of Kaysville, spent the weekent at Bear Lake on a family outing. the 41st Bomb Group. He served in England for three RET. COL. WELLS F. COLLETT HE GRADUATED from Logan High School and attended school in Burley, Ida., Vernal and Smithfield. He received a bachelors de- gree from USU in 1927. He was a member of the Retired Officers Association. He served on the Kaysville City Council for several years a.id served on the Bicentennial Historical Committee. He was a member of Alpha Gamma Phi at USU. He was an active member of the Kaysville 9th Ward and had served as a home teacher, a scoutmaster, a ward records examiner, an assistant high priest group leader and at the Ogden Genealogical Library. He was a member of the Kaysville Rotary Club and manager of the Brimco Manufacturing Co., in SLC. SURVIVING are his widow of Kaysville, daughters, Mrs. Carma C. Walton, Vernon, Conn.; Luana Swade, Simi Valley, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren; brother, Owen Collett, Murray; sister, Mrs. Verda C. Brimhall, M. Blanding, Ut. Funeral services were held July 3 in the Lindquist Kaysville Mortuary Chapel with Hon-eyvill- Mr. and Mrs. Dwayne Meacham and children of Texas are moving to Fruit HE HAD lived in Vernal and in Kaysville from 1928 to 1940 years as an inspector general of the Northern European Air Command and retired from Hill AFB on Jan. 31, 1957. Attorney Michael Lowe and his son Michael of Fullerton, Calif, were visitors for two days of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Lowe. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Gilmore entertained at dinner Sunday for David Gilmore of Mr. Gilmores father; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gilmore, Mr. and Mrs. David Gilmore, all of Kaysville; and Mr. and Mrs. Rex Gilmore of Layton and all of their families. Bishop A. Neal Smith officiating. The family prayer was given by William N. Jones; prelude and postlude music by Pearl Jorgenson; a musical selection sung by Shirley Smith, 0 My Father, acc: by Pearl Jorgenson; invocation by John Homer. Remarks were given by Bishop Smith; speakers were Bishop Sam Raymond, Bishop Forest Barker and Bishop Rodney Felt. A musical selec- tion Air Force Song by Joseph Hill, acc: by Pearl Jorenson; speaker, Owen Collett; a musical selection by the 9th Ward quartet consisting of Clifford Blamires, Jeff Dun-for- Kevin Blamires and Doug Richins, Acc: by Pearl Jorgenson; benediction by Kirtley Tucker. PALLBEARERS were Bruce Collett, Dan Collett, Jim Ivins, Howard Skinner, Kyle Walton and Wendel Walton. Honorary pallbearers were the Kaysville 9th Ward High Priests. Military honors were given by Hill AFB and dedication of the grave was given by Reid Ivins. Interment in Kaysville Memorial Park. The weather wasnt very cooperative for Kaysvilles fireworks, this year, but it was still fun to buy your own variety and get some bang out of it all, as these youngsters and one father stock up at a Kaysville booth. THE BIG BANG Kaysville News Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bird and family of Magna, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Peterson and family of Bountiful were Monday night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel McAllister and family. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Thor-soare announcing the arrival of a daughter Becky Lynn born on June 28 at Davis North Medical Center. At home is a sister, Jenny, two brothers, Kelly and Cory. Mrs. Thorson is the former Wendy Jewkes of Elko, Nev. Grandparents are Bishop and Mrs. Joseph Thorson of Kaysville and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jewkes of Layton. Ted Bingham has enlisted in the U.S. Army and will leave July 6 for his basic training at Fort Sill, Okla. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Bingham. The Fruit Heights 4th Ward Primary Association held a round the block childrens parade on Saturday. The children were in decorated tricycles, wagons, dressed as little animals and many other interesting characters as well as one entry, a real painted horse. Each child participating received a n helium filled balloon. Mrs. Christy Pedersen, Primary president, was in charge. Attorney and Mrs. Gary Sargeant and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Arbuckle and family spent two days at Bear Lake. Lani Benton and brother, Eric Benton of Tempe, Ariz are spending the summer months with their grandmother, Mrs. Velma Benton. They are the children of John Eldon Benton. Mrs. Bonnie Heywood entertained the DeLite Pinochle Club at the Country Garden Restaurant in Clearfield on Wednesday. Bishop and Mrs. Robert McMillin and family spent three days in Waterlow, N.M to visit with their foster Indian daughter, Jeanette Jack. Jeanette made her home with the McMillin family ith the Indian Placement Program. Bishop and Mrs. Robert Dunford entertained at a dinner party at their home July 2 in honor of Craig Fisher. Craig has been serving as first counselor to Bishop Dunford and has been released to become a member of the Kaysville Utah Stake High Council. Guests included, besides the Fishers, other members of the bishopric and their partners. Mark Meacham, who has been staying with his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Meacham, the past nine months has returned to his home in Rawlins, Wyo. with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Meacham. CODY DON MADSEN Happy All Birthday Celebrating his first birthday on July 7, was Cody Don Madsen, son of Roger L. and Tani L. Madsen of 215 North Fairfield, Layton, Utah. Happy birthday Cody.
