He was bom Sept. 16, 1916 in Monticello, Ut., a son of George Lester and Mable Dalton Lewis. HE MARRIED Golda Smith May 15, 1946 in Monticello. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a farmer and e grounds keeper at the Oak-ridg- I 1 f ? 5 Country Club in Farmington. He was reared in Monticello and had lived in Colora- do, Washington, California and Bluff, Ut. before moving to Layton three years ago. HE ATTENDED school in Monticello, was the supervisor at the Monticello LDS Church farm and was an active member of the Layton 19th Ward in the scouting program. A veteran, he had served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Aleutian Islands and Alaska. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Monticello. Surviving are his widow of Layton; stepsons, James E.W. Pettingill, Kaysville; Earl Lee Roy Pettingill, Sillah, Wash.; Frank A. Pettingill, Riverside, Calif; 14 one ALSO SURVIVING are two brothers, Lloyd Leroy Lewis, Black Canyon City, Ariz. ; William H. Lewis, Kearns; one sister, Mrs.Bill (Lucy) White, Pleasant Grove. Funeral services were held April 29 in the Lindquist Kaysville Mortuary with Bishop John Randy Kimball officiating. Interment in the Monticello Cemetery. She will be named MaeRinda Lee and her mother is the former Tracey to welcome her are two brothers, Anthony and Jason, Bernard, Oklahoma City and a sister, Nicole. Mrs. Taylor is the former Gloria Barton of Kaysville. Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Barton, Kaysville, and Mr. and Mrs. James T. Taylor, Bountiful, are the grandparents. Boasting over the arrival of a son are Mr. and Mrs. Mark Ross of Kaysville. The 7 lbs. 5 oz. lad arrived at the Davis North Medical Center in Layton on April 13, 1981 and will be named Christopher John. He is the first child of the Ross. Mrs. Ross is the former Sheila Barney of Sunset. County will rally to provide a al Center and w eighed 7 lbs. Mrs. Henry Mills are the 1 1 oz. At home to welcome him are John and Brian.
