THESE AND many other law tropics will be taught and discussed at Layton High School beginning Jan. 27 for eight weeks from p.m. A $10 fee will be charged. Classes will be taught by attorneys from Davis County concerning topics which apply to most citizens. EACH GROUP of class officers was asked to go around to the members of their class and ask them to donate their S3 book fee that was paid at registration. This fee is usually refunded at the end of the year, but when the students signed the pledge sheet it became part of the fund for the pine tree project. The class officers were given a week to get all the donations they could, and the class that raised the most money was the winner. The sophomore class won by raising a little over $1,000 out of the toal $1,600 that was raised during the project. OFFICERS HELPING were Alvin Wilson, president; Sabora Parry, vice president, and Annette Adams, secretary. As winners of the contest the whole sophomore class will be admitted free to the studentbody officer sponsored p month for December was Maureen McKay. She is a senior at Layton High, the section leader for the second violins, and a member of the acappella . type-writin- speed, and business forms will be taught. The type class will begin Jan. 27 and cost $16 for ten weeks from 9 p.m. Anyone interested in these classes should contact Cal Harris during school hours at Layton High School, "Spirit Day. The highlight of the day Friday will be the ninth grade assembly, a variety show put on under the direction of the ninth grade officers and their advisor, Mr. Bowman. Officers are Suzanne Murdock, Christine Boyer and Kris Alvey. Reflections Contest The Crestview Elementary School in Layton is having a Reflections Fine Arts Contest, The purpose of the contest is to encourage creative expression from the children in the areas of art, literature and music.
