TURNER FAMILY The annual meeting of the t Heights Region of the Utah Association of Women will be held Jan. 4 at 7 Kaysville-Frui- in the Sam Morgan Elementary School. AT THIS meeting those families submitted for the Family of the Year award w ill be honored and the representative family from this region w ill be awarded. Voting for region officers selected by the nominating committee will also take place at this meeting. Mayor Neil Noorda of Fruit Heights and John Thacker. Kaysviile city administrator, w ill address the meeting about current issues and will entertain questions er during a brief question-ans- period following their re- marks. Members of the Charles V. Turner family of Fruit Heights include standing, Jonathan L., Jessica, Bonnie Jo, Jennifer and Charles V. Jr.; seated, Charles (Chuck land JoAnn Newbert Turner. rents of three children. Mrs. Fisher serves in various capacities with the Officers' Wives Clubs and on numerous committees. She was selected as the representative of faculty wives of the Air Un- iversity at Maxwell AFB. Montgomery, Ala. She appeared on the television programs produced to familiarize the public with the goals and purposes of the university. Col. (retired) Jay N. Fisher. He is the director of Project Outreach with the Davis County Education District. Thev are the pa agent. She is also an active member of the LDS Church and has filled positions in all of the organizations. SHE IS convinced that the strength of the nation and community is dependent upon the participation of its citizens. She has served within the Republican Party as legislative district vice chairman and chairman; has been many times a county and state delegate as well as working in many campaigns for various candidates. Janice W. Barnes, the nominee for third vice president, was raised in Arco, Ida. w here she graduated from Butte High School. Following graduation she worked for two years as secretary to a real estate firm. SHE MARRIED Grant Barnes, who in the ensuing years graduated from USU in engineering and is presently employed as an engineer at Hill AFB. Janice has worked in the PTA for 15 years, during which time she was PTA president of the Kaysviile Elementary School. She has been a volunteer at the Veterans Hospital for two years and has helped on the committee for the annual Festival of Trees for three years. She has had the opportunity of serving in various capacities in the L.DS Church. SHE IS currently serving on the activity committee of the Kaysviile Utah Stake; is a member of the board of directors of the Kaysviile Community Theatre Guild and a member of a literary club and pianist for the The Barnes have four children. one a nurse at Holy Cross Hospital, one a student at WSC. and two attending school in Kaysviile. She served last yeat as secretary for the Fruit Heights Chapter 3 of the Kaysviile Fruit Heights Region. She also helped last year as neighborhood campaign manager for Senator Garn. . AN ACTIN E member of the LDS Church, she has held many leadership positions. She is a graduate of Davis High and worked as a secretary at Hill AFB in Procurement and then in data processing. She was employed at North American Rockwell ex- ecutive offices in Redondo Beach, Calif, as a secretary for the director of Finance policies and Procedures. She later worked at TRW Aerospace Systems as secretary of the aerodynamics section, and was later promoted to executive secretary for a division scientist in charge of procurement of new aeorspace systems.
