The couple were married Sept. 12, 1980 with Elder Kerm Herd, an uncle of the bride, as the officiator. held at Maddox Cafe in Brigham City hosted by the grooms mother. That evening they received guests at a reception in the Kaysville LDS Chapel Cultural Hall in Kaysville. KAREN IS the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William L. Brim-leof Layton: The groom- - is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Darwin M Larsen of north Ogden. A garden reception followed at the home of the groom. THE BRIDE wore a gown of white batise, featuring a lace standup collar, a square lace inset on the bodice and a full flowing skirt thaLextended into a train. It was edged in a dainty ruffle with lace and ribbon trim. Attending the bride Kershaw, Mrs. Glade Carpenter and Kim Nance. They were dressed in polyester prints in shades of apricot styled with lace at the shoulders. The skirt featured a wide ruffle edged in ribbon and lace. MATRON OF honor was Pam B. Bridenstine with Mary B. Cobb, Shauna Frazier, and Kari Jo Whitelock as bridesmaids. THE NEWLYWEDS honeymooned in southern California and will make their new home in Kaysville. Layton Youth from the Layton Utah LDS Stake and from most parts of Layton participated in a youth dance last Saturday in the north church street chapel cultural hall. Nearly 200 attended between the ages of Mrs. Howard Young has spent an enjoyable week visiting with her sister, Mrs. Nora Gillette, from Margarth Alberta, Canada. She is the forMr. mer Miss Utah 1979-8Larsen has fulfilled an LDS mission to Indiana and is a graduate of Weber High School and LDS Seminary. He is attending WSC also. The newlyweds enjoyed a honeymoon trip to California and will reside in Roy. 773-497- 6 Mr. and Mrs. Dean Sheffield have returned home after enjoying a weeks vacation at Lake Powell where they were met by Deans brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Sheffield of Brea, Calif. Their daughter, Sherrie and their grandson, Brook Davis from Riverside, Calif, were able to meet them at Lake Powell also. The family injoyed water skiing, visiting the scienic canyons of Lake Powell, including Rainbow Bridge, and boating down the lake to the Glen Canyon Dam, which they toured. John and Betty Bly from Santa Rosa, Calif, flew to Utah last Monday to show relatives their seven week old baby. The child is named Stephen Mor gan Bly. Betty Bly is a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Morgan of Layton. John Bly is attending school in Berkley, Calif. members of the Forty-fiv- e Roadrunners traveling club living in cities from Pocatello to Salt Lake City recently returned from a trip to northern California and Nevada. Among those traveling with the group was Virginia Larsen of Layton. The tour stopped in Reno and went on to San Fran-sic- o where they were met by Reed Hanscm. He had attended the furneral of his sister in Spokane, Wash., before joining the group. Mrs. Monte (Mary) Criddle was the guest of honor at a baby shower given by Mrs. Jeff (Emmy) Criddle. About 20 friends and relatives attended the shower. MR. AND MRS. LEO MR. THACKER was born Sept. 24, 1900 in. Buysville, (Daniels), Ut., a son of John and Eliza Thacker. He married Thaylia Watson Oct. 10, 1923. He is a retired coal miner from Castle Gate coal mines. His living children are Mrs Robert B. (Fern) Anderson Pleasant Grove; Harry F Thacker, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs Lloyd (Helen) Gheen, Amer ican Fork; F. Weldon Thack er, Bountiful; Mrs. Jack W (Marilyn) Leifson, Spanish Fork; Mrs. John S. (LaPreal) Allison, Clearfield. n. Mr. Thacker has enjoyed a lifetime of service in the LDS Church. He was in the bishopric and bishop of the Castle Gate Ward for 30 years. He later was a patriarch in the Carbon North Stake. He has been actively interested in community affairs, serving as Castle Gate Town mayor. AFTER graduation in from high school, Mr. Walker attended the U. of U. before entering the service during World War I. After the war he continued his education at BYU and received his masters degree in 1922. He remained in the U.S. Reserve and served as a captain in the National Guard 1st Battalion Headquarter Battery in Garland. He also coached at Bear River High School. During World War II he served from and retired with a rank of Lieutenant Colonel. HE WAS employed with the Utah State University Veterans Administration training program in Logan and transferred to Hill AFB in a training program at the personnel headquarters administration office where he remained until his re tirement in 19u8.
