WEEKLY REFLEX JUNE 28. 1979 Cynthia Cook To Present Senior Piano Recital Cynthia Cook will present her senior year piano recital on Sunday, July 1 at 8 p.m. in the Kaysville East Stake Center. Dawson School may be no more but its memory lingers on. The old DAWSON SCHOOL By TOM BUSSELBERG EAST LAYTON - The red brick one-roo- m Dawson-Hollo- School is now only a memory, one that was vividly relived recently by about 20 former students of the East Layton school. FORMER STUDENTS and two teachers met for a reunion late last week and although the school has been closed since 1916, some talked about their days there as though it had been six years instead of more than 60. One who remembered was Thelma Wiggill Rande, now attended of Salt Lake City. there for the first and second grades from 1913 to 1915, she recalled. It had an old fashioned stove and we got wood out of the shed. They were honored with a dinner party at the Heather Restaurant in Salt Lake City that evening by Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Motta, Layton and George Gershwin. All the participants are 1979 graduates of Davis High School. The public is invited to attend, np friends attended including Mrs. N. V. Uzelac of Salt Lake City. A large group of family and Mrs. J. K. Schumaker, Beloit, Wise., the mother of Mrs. Motta, and also her brother and Mr. and sister-in-la- took place on June 16. Mrs. Motta was the former Mary Lou Schumaker of Wisconsin and she and Dominick were married on June 19, 1954 in Murray. Connecticut Yankee Play At Lagoon Opera House Ends Saturday A A Connecticut Yankee, currently playing at the Lagoon Opera House will end its run this Saturday night. The fast pace, rousing musical comedy has been playing to full houses since the first week in June. Season tickets are still available through Saturday. Frank and Doris Lane of East Layton celebrated their 25th Silver Anniversary this past weekend. On Saturday, their children hosted a family dinner party in their honor.
