She is survived by two daughters and two foster sons, Mrs. Bessie W. Schoen-feland Mrs. Lawrence R. (Helen) Briggs, both of Syracuse; Leslie P. Cook, Syracuse and Richard Jones of Reseda, Calif. Also 10 grandchildren and 20 greatd, IRENE UDY WILCOX Julia Irene Udy Wilcox, 90 years of age, of 2511 West 700 South, Syracuse, died on Sunday morning, Sept. 4, 1977 at a convalescent home in Ogden. SHE WAS born in Farmington, Utah on July 17, 1887. She was the daughter of Mathias Cowley and Emily Rebecca "Hess Udy. She grew up in Farmington, attended Davis County schools and then the University of Utah. She taught school in the Farmington district for three years. On June 16, Syracuse. MR. WILCOX died Sept. 6, 1967. Irene was active in the various organizations of the LDS Church. She served in the MIA, as president, chorister, Era director, Beehive teacher, Gleaner leader for 15 years, and also served in the MIA stake board. She served in the Relief Society for 50 years plus as a visiting teacher and also as a class leader and a teacher in the Sunday School organization. IN THE Primary organization she was organist and also teacher in many classes. Mrs. Wilcox was also a Golden Gleaner. She filled two LDS missions with her husband, one in the Northwestern States and one in the Gulf States mission. An active worker in the Club program, she served in her community and also in Davis County with this program. 4-- A MEMBER of the Rachel Warren Camp Layton Daughters of Utah Pioneers, she held a number of positions of leadership in this organization and headed the Red Cross in Davis County foster THE funeral services on Wednesday at the Syracuse Stake Center, were conducted by Bishop Grant M. Schoenfeld, a grandson; Patriarch T. Joseph Steed, Dr. Clayton S. Huber and Bishop Grant M. Steed. musical selections, Grandma Is Not Far Away, composed by Becky B. He had engaged in farming in Syracuse and also employed at the Clearfield Naval Supply Depot and Hill Air Force Base. SURVIVING are his widow of Syracuse, two sons and two daughters; Fay Barber of' Fruit Heights, Bruce Barber and Miss LaRee Barber, Syracuse; and Mrs. L. Jay (Itha) Flint, Layton; 11 grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. IT IS not unusual for couples or individuals to be called to serve a mission, but it is the first time known in Kaysville to have a father, mother and were Kent daughter all receive their mission call the same day. It was a thrilling experience along with mixed emotions to have this happen in the Cheney family. MR. AND Mrs. Cheney will serve in the Oklahoma-Tuls- a Mission while Carol Joy will be s serving in the Mission. They are all members of the Kaysville 13th LDS Ward. Smith Smith, depart for their destinations on September 18 served as Young Adult representative of the Kaysville 13th Ward. She has been employed with ZCMI in Salt Lake City prior to her mission call. The Cheneys were honored at a farewell testimonial Sunday, August 28 Kaysville 13th LDS Ward Sacrament Meeting. They were further honored at an open house on Sunday and Monday, August 28 and 29 at their home. (Carla) Perry, both of Kaysand ten have grandchildren.
