Show Layton Offers Mp TGd Summer Drama Classes was accepted into advanced The Layton City Recreation Department is offering a class this summer to those wishing to further their education in the field of drama. The following topics will be covered in the class. acting program at the university, a program that only accepts a limited number of students and by audition only. Last year he directed the show for the Layton Dinner Theatres presentation of Stranger, an original play written for that function. Chosen as assitant director is Diane Fawcett. She too, has had many years of experience in The field of drama. She is a student in the theatre arts program at Brigham Young MOVEMENT-thi- s class will explore the different aspects of movement and how they relate to the development of a character. The class will also deal with the movement 75-7- topics, stage fighting and stage presence. porActing Technique-thi- s tion of the class will explore the different tricks of the stage - how to develop ones character ' emotionally, physically and mentally. The difference between stage and film acting will also be taught as well as personal help with individual problems in act- University. MONA DeGiorgio has been chosen as the publicity manager for the show. Mona has had several classes in art and advertising, plus much experience in the field of drama. Mary Camfield will serve as accompanist. She attends Utah State University and is a ' music major. ing. He is respon- sible for the effective operation and administrative functions of the city business office. Mr. SPECIFICALLY, Heaps duties include: Responsible for the full and effective utilization of all personnel under his supervision and establishes work objec- tives, priorities and stan- dards; under the general guidance provided by the City conducts the Council, business affairs of the City; responsible for the proper posting and billing of all accounts ie water, sewer, business license, etc. In addition each year, he must prepare a tentative budget setting forth in detail the revenues and expenditures of the preceding year, the estimated revenues of the current year and an estimate of the revenues of the next succeeding year and each month he must prepare a budget status report for the use of the City Council and all department heads; responsible for keeping correct records and minutes of all proceedings of the City Council and accurate records of all ordinances and resolutions passed by the City Council, and the posting of publishing of all ordinances. examines all reports, bonds, papers, vouchers and accounts; pudits all claims and ALSO, HE : ' . : cemands against the City and makes recommendations to the City Council regarding these matters; responsible for the receipt of all money belonging to the City, makes disbursments as required and In addition, Mr. Heaps was recently appointed administrative assistant to the Mayor which involves another list of responsibilities. Mrs. Buckley has lived in Layton for 14 years, is married to David L. Buckley, and is the mother of two children and five stepchildren. Taking care of the mayors correspondence as well as being the City Council secretary is Pat Jamison. In additon, she arranges the final bills for residents moving out of Lay-to- n and the utility startups for new residents, does the city payroll, answers the phone, assists the cashier, and does collections. Mrs. Jamison has been with the city on a fulltime basis for the past ten years and worked part-tim- e for two years prior to that. She is a Layton native and a graduate of Davis High. She is married to Edward Jamison and they have one daughter. IF YOU go to the city office to pay your water bill, chances are you will give your payment to Dena Jacobsen, the cashier. She receives all monies, makes the daily deposits, waits on customers, distributes the mail, and does other general clerical work. Miss Jacobsen is a 1973 graduate of Layton High and has been with the city for almost three years. She lives with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Jacobsen, in Layton. All of the employees in the Administration Dept, are capable and experienced individuals.
