Show G Page Six - The Pyramid - August 28, 2003 OBITUARIES Herald A. Vance Herald A. FAIRVIEW Vance died Aug. 21, 2003, in Provo. He was born Dec. 11, 1923, in Milburn, a son of Byron A. and Ella Jensen Vance, the eighth of nine children. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Occupation of Japan. Herald married Norma Jensen, Sept. 15, 1948. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Herald owned Vances Carpets and worked in carpentry and floor coverings most of his life. After raising their family in Orem, Herald and Norma returned to live in Milburn where they restored the old Milburn LDS Ward Meeting House and operated Meadow Lane Lodge. They later moved to Fairview. Herald had many talents, skills and interests. He was intensely proud of his heritage and the history of Sanpete County. He continually offered his skills as a craftsman to the community he loved and was involved in the restoration of many of its buildings, including the Fairview Museum, Fairview City Hall and Senior Citizen Center. Herald was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Da- y Saints. Because of his knowledge and love of nature, he enjoyed serving as a Scoutmaster. He loved fishing, hunting, and boating with his family. PLEASAN- T- Fergus Clifford Rosenlund, age 82, beloved father, grandfauncle ther, and friend; passed away Aug. 19, 2003; after a brave battle with heart disease. Ferg was born May 20, 1921, and raised in Fairview, the son of Annie Dorthea and Paul Andrew Rosenlund. He had five brothers and four Ferg married his sweetheart, Melba Maurine Thompson, Dec. 8, 1942; and made their home in Mt. Pleasant. They were blessed with three children Stephen, Linda and Leslee. Ferg worked very hard all his life, working as a mechanic in local service stations, Bradshaw Auto Parts and Express Auto. He drove the school bus for 35 years. Ferg was a member of the LDS Church and served many years as the Ward Clerk. He had a wonderful sense of humor and had many dear friends, socializing at the local coffee shop.
