Lawrence Larsen FAIRVIEW Lawrence Erick Larsen 84, passed away July 1, 2003; in the Sanpete Valley Hospital. Lawrence was born Dec. 22, 1918, in Spanish Fork, UT; to Lawrence Erick & Ellen Brynhil-du- r Budvarson Larsen. He married Alta Allred Nov. 6, 1941; in the Manti LDS Temple. He lived in Fairview his entire life. As a young man he operated the city power plant with his dad, Lew Peterson. Later, he operated a lumber mill, dairy farm and ranch. He loved sports especially baseball. He was widely-knowas "Gabby" in the city baseball leagues where he played every position and was said to be "a threat at the plate." He also loved hunting and fishing and every activity that took him to the mountains. He served an LDS mission to Norway prior to the outbreak of WWII, whereupon, he was reassigned to the Central States Mission. He served in many positions of the LDS Church including bishop and high councilman. For several years he served on the North Sanpete School Board and for 24 years he was secretary of the Cottonwood Gooseberry Irrigation Company. He was a friend to everyone and was known for the help and service he gave to people throughout the community.
