Intermediate silver and $30 was awarded to Misty Baggerly and Char DARE program holds graduation MT. PLEASANT Elementary schools will be holding sixth grade DARE graduations this week. The program has been taught at each of the local elementary schools by Officer Holman of the Sanpete County Sheriffs Department. Moroni Elementary recently held their graduation. Mt. Pleasant Elementary will hold graduation today, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m.; Fairview Elementary, Thursday, Dec. 17, at 1:30 p.m.; and Fountain Green Elementary, Friday, Dec. 18, at 6 p in. All parents and students are encouraged to attend the ceremony. Refreshments will be served. QGQ QhQQ 6QQQQ by Holly Lynne Simonsen EPHRAI- M- Two Snow College students, Torry Thompson- and Clovis Maez, recently received the Utah Coalition for the Advancement of Minorities in Higher Education (UCAMHE) annual scholarship. The scholarships are cash awards of $1,000, offered to students of color who meet resident status for tuition purposes. The money is to be used to further student educa- grammar, attitude, presentation, and efficiency.. Snow College recipient, Maez was a football player who gave up the game so he could place his priorities on academics and his family. He will graduate from Snow College this spring, and is planning to further his education with a career in law enforcement. Thompson is a sophomore at Snow College who also played football. He is the president of n the Organization of tion. SocioEconomic Applicants are judged on achieveacademicvocational ment, involvement and leadership in school, community, religious, political, or other service activities, personal goals, and financial needs. The purpose of UCAMHE Scholarships is to assist as many students of color as possible. Each Utah college and university receives two or three scholarships depending on size. Students who apply must complete an extensive written application, and provide a transcript of their previous grades. They must participate in a scholarship interview, where they are not only graded on content, but also composure, NS wrestler receives award Varsity Varsity wrestlers went to Filmore to the Iron Man Tournament where Kade Church, 160, placed first and also brought home the outstanding wrestler award.
