Dyches, son of Brent and Sally Dyches, Moroni, on Friday, Oct. 30, 1998, in the Manti LDS Temple. Reed and Shirlene Newmeyer, Moroni, have been called to serve in the Ireland Dublin LDS Mission. Here in North Sanpete, many community members volunteer large amounts of time to many projects. We commend those that are already making a difference. There is still a need to have more community involvement. Elementary schools literacy programs have very little outside help, to teach children to read. The schools accept volunteers of all ages and have needs to fit any schedule. Pleasant Elementary PTA is bringing back the Halloween Carnival on Oct. 31. from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at the National Gaurd Armory in Mt. Pleasant. Children through 6th grade are encouraged to attend the party. There will be a costume contest, pumpkin carving contest, free activities, and food at a reasonable cost. The PTA would like to see the carnival come back for good if they have a good turn out.
