Royal Nelson had six tackles, and Pehrson, Ikiaka Uperesa and Mark Noorlander had five apiece. Lady Hawks Volleyball Team recently took region by defeating Delta 15 to 11, 15 to 5. Their record was 0 in region play. Lady Hawks offense was led by senior leadership and played well averaging 9 kills per game. This week playoffs begin with the Park City Miners taking on the Hawks in Mt. Pleasant. Park Citys record stands at 5 and 4, while North Sanpete stands at 6 and 3 overall and 4 and 0 in Region play. 3-- A All-Sta- te Forever Young concrete, MT. PLEASANT The number five ranked Hawks continue their quest for a state football crown as they host the Park City Miners this Friday at 7 p.m. at Hawk Stadium. North Sanpete comes into the game with an overall record of 6 and 3, but with an unblemished 4 and 0 record in region play. Park City, fourth place finisher in Region 10, sports records of 5 and 4 overall and 1 and 3 in their league. There are four regions in and champions are: Bear River, Region 7; North Sanpete, Region 8; Cedar City, Region 9 and Uintah, Region 10. All region champions were undefeated in league play. Sixteen teams go into the playoffs, four from each region. The number one and four seeds' from Region 8, North Sanpete and Richfield, play in the upper bracket, while Region 8s second and third seeds. Delta and Emery, play in the lower bracket. 3-- A Cross country teams compete at State meet 77-ya- rd ers also running excellent races for the varsity team. The team scored 199 points with their top five, good enough for ninth place out of the 14 competing. Girls from Cedar City won with a low score of 51 points. Following the race, Papenfuss for was recognized as the second year in a row for her top ten finish. In 3A boys race, the Hawks were represented by juniors Bret Morley and Layne Freeman, who had advanced to State as individuals. Morley started out slowly but used his momentum to pass many of the states top cross country athletes in the last mile and a half. His time of 17:09 resulted in 10th place and recognition. Morley has also accepted an invitation to run in the High School All-StMeet on Nov. 14, at the East Bay Golf Course, to which the top ten individuals from each classification, 1A to 5A, have been invited. Final score was Hawks 3, Kamakazies 1 . Goals were scored by Tyler Strate, Fernando Cervantes and Adam Mecham. According to rankings by the Lake Tribune, the lower bracket would appear to be more powerful.
