He loved nature and had a vast knowledge of plants and animal life; he time enjoyed spending and sharing his knowledge with others. After his retirement he traveled with his friend Dail Averett, spending many hours exploring the desert regions of Utah. For many years, Monday was the day they and their wives traveled throughout Utah and the surrounding states.
