Voters in cities will choose Sanpete County their leaders when they take to the polls on municipal election day, Nov. 4. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. PLEASANT- are challenging each other for a two-yecouncil seat. For two four-yecouncil seats, candidates include Elizabeth Jensen, Karen C. Prisbrey, Mark V. Pickett and Vern L. Hatch. for mayor. seats are being sought by two-yeCouncilman Milton Larsen, Merwin K. Kjar and Reed F. Christensen. Sterling Barbara Wintch (R) and Ivo Ray Peterson (D) are vying for the office of mayor. He will explain about Western Governors University which will offer many different degrees without going to any college. They are suggesting a way to earn a college education at home on a computer. The public is welcome to attend to listen and ask questions. Earle Hobby is named new warden GUNNISO- N- A Mountainville resident has been named new warden for the Central Utah Correctional Facility (CUCF). E. Earle Hobby replaced Fred Van Der Veur at the 650 bed. medium security prison on Oct. 20. Van Der Veur is the new Director of Institutional Operations. Hobby and hts wife, Kathleen, have bien residents of Sanpete County for 21 years. They has seven children. He was deputy warden of secu- - POORCOPY JHMM at CUCF since August 1994 He was deputy bureau chief of support services and programming coriectional administrator, executive officer from 1990 when CUCF opened to 1994. Hobby was the founder and executive director of Project Reality Substance Abuse Treatment Program. Before that, he was the chief social worker for die forensic unity at the Utah State Hospital.
