Soldiers also completed the field artillery cannon crew member advanced individual training course. The course instructed students to maintain, prepare and load ammunition for firing; operate and perform operator maintenance on prime movers, howitzers, and ammunition vehicles; and perform crew maintenance and participate in maintenance of organizational weapons and related equipment. Students also learned to establish and maintain radio and wire communications. Spencer, a 1996 graduate of Manti High School, is the son of Sandra L. Spencer, Sterling; and Stanley J.
