Two new classes have been added to this years event. Centennial Class and Farm Tractor class. The Centennial Class has been added to help celebrate this years state centennial. Entries may include horse and buggies, handcarts and others. The Farm Tractor Class will include tractors, new or restored. Besides the two new classes, dozens of other classes are available for competition. Entries will be taken until the show starts. A lesser fee may be paid if entry is received before Tuesday, Aug. 27. North Sanpete School Food Authorities policy for free and reduced price meals for children unable to pay the full price of mealsmilk served under the National School Lunch, School Breakfast andor Special Milk Programs. Almost all schools in the local Districts have a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any interested party. The attached household size and income criteria will be used for determining eligibility this year. Children from families whose income is at or below the levels shown are eligible for free or reduced price mealslmilk. who are currently approved by Food Stamps, AFDC or Food DistriChildrenfhouseholds bution Programs for Indians on the Reservation may be certified directly by the appropriate Agency. These households will receive a letter of notification or they may fill out an abbreviated application based on that eligibility for free and reduced price meallmilk. If the family is not notified of their right to refuse benefits, they should contact the school lunch supervisor or the school. Application forms for those not directly certified are being sent home with an accompanying letter to parents or guardians. To apply for free or reduced price meals, households should fill out the application and return it to their school or district office. The information provided on the application will be used for the purpose of determining eligibility and may be verified at any time during the school year by school or other program officials. For the school officials to determine eligibility, the household must provide the following information listed on the application: Names of all household members, social security numbers of the adult completing the application, or a statement that the person does not possess one; household monthly income by source; and the signature of an adult household member certifying that the information provided is correct. Households are required to report increases in household income of over $50 per month or $600 per year and decreases in household size. Applications may be submitted at any time during the year. If a household member becomes unemployed or if the household size changes, the family should contact the school. Such changes may make the children of the household eligible for reduced price meals, or for additional benefits such as free meals if the family income falls at or below the levels shown. Under provisions of the free and reduced price policy, a designated Approving Official(s) will review applications and determine eligibility. If a parent or guardian is dissatisfied with the ruling of the official, he may wish to discuss the decision on an informal basis. If the parentguardian wishes to make a formal appeal, they may make a request either orally or in writing to the hearing official by contacting the local school food service supervisor for more information. The policy contains an outline of the hearing procedure. In certain cases, foster children who are legal wards of the court are also eligible for no charge benefits and may be directly certified. If a household has foster children living with them and wishes to apply for meal benefits, the household should contact the school for more information. The information provided by the household is confidential and will be used only for purposes of determining eligibility and verifying data unless a wavier releasing the use of the information for other specific programs is signed by the parentguardian. Families directly certified will receive a waiver release form for their signature with the notification letter.
