Renters cannot take occupancy prior to the building inspection. Glauser says he is in no hurry to complete all 10 units and actually had no plans to build a "trailer park", although he has received many calls and already has a waiting list for the rentals. Glauser s mobile homes got notice after the Nov. 24 Mt. Pleasant City Council meeting, where the council approved an ordinance requiring landlords to pay $25 per rental unit on a yearly basis to offset the cost of strict inspections to guarantee tenants health and safety. Glauser objects and plans to oppose the ordinance at the Oct. 28 meeting with details unavailable at press time. He explained the need for housing in the area. Although he does not want to see another substandard trailer court in the city, he ob- - jects to the ordinance as a solution. He says he is happy to comply with the city building codes, but feels the $25 fee per unit is excessive and will have to be added to rents tenants are already having difficulty affording. Glauser wants tenants to take their complaints to their respective landlords, who he says will should make the repairs. But tenants residing in another park say their requests go unheard and repeated requests can result in eviction. The ordinance will not take effect until it is published, but is an effort on the part of city officials to rectify already existing mobile home problems as well as prevent them in the future, according to Mayor Chesley All-Regi- Centerfield imposes ban on apartments team on CENTERFIELD MT. Lund said, "I am opposed to multiple dwellings if we are going to remain rural. " The action prompted a decision to change city ordinances. The council also established a moratorium on trailers manufactured before 1977 until new guidelines can be developed. The council announced at the same meeting that they will be paving several streets within the city. EXTI27 QUESTIONSS7Y FOR A SHINING, SHIMMERING, HOLIDAY TREAT, TAKE EXIT 261 See the sights.
