Show w.ijr Page Six - The Pyramid - October 11, 1995 Moroni council discusses water, sewer and baseball park issues by C. R. Truitt MORON- I- They city council advised Treasurer Scott Cook to hold off on a $48.40 charge to commercial business sewer rate in their Sept. 27 meeting. They opted to wait until costs to the city and Moroni Feed Company, who runs the sewer plant were examined. A motion by Councilman. Reed Christensen rescinding a previous motion setting up the charge was passed. The treasurer also asked the Council for a policy regarding meal reimbursement to council members for city business trips. He expressed discomfort at issuing expense checks before a trip and preferred receiving receipts for reimbursement. The council passed resolution requesting the recertification of Moronis Justice Court. The resolution reaffirms the citys willingness to meet all Judicial Council requirements. said gallons per minute (GPM) were under the 770 estimate and was pumping at 550 GPM. He added that this wasnt "the kiss of death" and pressure He still handle would Moronis needs. With the citys number two well equipped with a 250 GPM pump, the city would have plenty of water for population After a wording change, the council passed Councilman Mick Michies resolution to allow his department to replace old water lines at the same time water meters are moved out of residents homes. Line replacement is contingent on home owners signed permission and payment of $100 to cover expenses. Michie explained that once the meters are moved, with or without line replacement, the responsibility of the line from the new meter to the home will become the residents. The city will no longer maintain them. He said he was concerned because most of the lines are old and he wanted to give residents the opportunity to replace them when the new meter is installed. Sunrise Engineering Sunrise engineer Val Kofoed in his culinary well update, informed the council that the well driller is testing the well and expected to finish Sept. 29. growth.
