Baker, the man who plays Merlin the Magician in King Arthurs Tournament at the Excalibur Hotel in Las Vegas, is scheduled ' to appear at the next Snow College Convocation on Thursday, April 27 at 12:30 p.m. in the Crane Theatre. The topic of his discussion will be "Merlin, Shakespeare and the Arts". He will do a little performing as well as address the importance of arts in education. Baker has performed on stage across the country in venues such as the Arena Stage in Washing ton, D.C. and the Asolo State Theatre in Florida. He has also appeared in a number of commercial ventures on television as well as the big screen working for companies like Cellular One, Coca Cola and Chrysler Corporation. Baker received his BA degree in acting and theatre studies from Utah State University and went on to earn his MFA degree in acting at Ohio University. He served as associate professor at Southern Utah University for nine years and is currently working as an adjunct professor at the Community College of Southern Nevada. Baker also worked as a writer and director for the Utah Shake- spearean Festival Greenshow-Feast- e for five years in the late 80s. Bakers appearance promises to be both informative and entertaining. The lectures are free of charge and open to the public. Brooke Spens honored in Teacher Feature program The Snow College Band will be wrapping up a performing tour that will send them on a loop through Reno. NV. They will compete in the "Reno Jazz Festival" and spend three days in jazz workshops and jamming with professional musicians. PLEASAN- T- Joseph and Leentje Daley announce the marriage of their daughter, Meilanie, to Michael Higgins, son of Calvin and Yvonne Higgins, of Coos Bay, OR, on Wednesday, May 3, 1995, in the Manti LDS Temple. A reception will be held in their honor on Thursday, May 4 from 6:30 until 9 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant LDS Stake Center, 295 South State. An open house will also be held in Portland, OR, and a second reception in Coos Bay, OR. The bride is a graduate of North Sanpete High School and LDS Seminary. She served an LDS mission to Ukraine. She is currently attending Ricks College majoring in foreign business and is employed at the college. The bridegroom is a graduate of Coos Bay, OR High School. He also served an LDS mission to Ukraine. He is attending Ricks College and is employed at the college. The couple will make their home in Rexburg, ID. ; in Wales on Sunday April 30 at 9:30 a.m. He will enter the MTC on May 30th.
