PLEASAN- T- Local runners will have an opportunity to train on the North Sanpete High School track every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Anyone is welcome to participate regardless of ability or background, and beginners are encouraged as well as experienced Sharon MISSOULSA, MO Hansen, daughter of Vanoy and Evon Hansen, Spring City, placed fourth in the run last Saturday at the Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Hansen, a 1991 graduate of North Sanpete High School and currently a junior at Weber State University, had a time of 2:12.89 which is her personal best time by two seconds. Weber State, traditionally event, strong in the swept the first four places. Han- sen had the fourth best time in the conference going into the championship meet. Weber State placed second at the Big Sky Championsip with 101 total points. 800-met- racers. Brian Madsen, son of Paul and Renae Madsen, Mt. Pleasant, received the Most Valuable Offensive Player for having the teams highest batting average, the most steals and led in on base stats. Madsen is a junior at North Sanpete High School. Mt Pleasant Astros win second annual Lions tournament Included will be interval-typ- e workouts designed to suit the interest and ability of all those who participate. Those who would like to run cross country next fall for North Sanpete are especially encouraged to attend. The weekly sessions have been organized by Bill Bedford, cross country coach at Wasatch Academy and North Sanpete High School. "Its always more fun to complete these training sessions with a group and its also a great opportunity to meet other runners who live in the area," said Bedford. Pleasant Lions Club Baseball Tournament was really fun and was, without a doubt, die best, according to Lions Club vice president Boyd Brothersen. In the pony league, first place went to the Mt. Pleasant Astros and second to the Mt. Pleasant Second Angels. In the pinto league, the Spring City White Sox won first place and the Moroni Rockies won second. In the mustang league, the Moroni Rangers captured first place and the Moroni Braves took second. "We had a lot of comment from the spectators, who told us it was a great program and they hoped we would continue the tournament each year." said Brothersen. Councilwoman Diana Gibbons explained that she is still waiting for test results to return on Well No. 2, and for the chlorinator pump to be installed. The nitrate level in the well was 7.975 and she said she is awaiting results of tests in other wells around the city to determine how widespread the problem is so she can formulate a plan of action on Well No. 1.
