PLEASAN- T- The North Sanpete Hawks played two home games losing to Emerys and Spartans number-on- e-ranked Dixies number-two-ranke- Fly- d and 53-5- 5 respectively. North Sanpete led both games by ten at the half and lost both games by two points. In Fridays game against Emery, Layne Thompson and P.J. Steadman tied for high score with 17 apiece, followed by Eric Dyches with 10, Daniel Kjar with 9 and Jeff Mower with 7. Thompson made two three-poishots and Eric Dyches made another. Daniel Kjar was five for five at the free throw line. Thompson had seven rebounds, Steadman had six. Dyches and Kjar had four assists ers 60-6- 2 nt and two steals each. Thompson made two free throws in the last seconds in a valiant attempt to catch the Flyers, but time was against them. Scoring was not quite as high against Dixie on Saturday. PLEASAN- T- The North Sanpete Spiriteers recently competed in the Bountiful Invitational Drill Team Competition. The meet hosted teams from all 3A, 4A and 5 A schools. The Spiriteers won first place in Prop, Military, Dance and Sweepstakes which is first place overall. The team is under the direction of Mrs. Lauri Canales and Mrs. Nora Cook. Donkey basketball scheduled Jan. 17 13. In freshman action, the Ladyhawks hosted Millard on Jan. 4, Anna Palmer had losing 16 points and Rebecca Cook had 10.
