Show July 21, 1993 - The Pyramid - Page Three Chester couple to celebrate golden anniversary mp et CHESTER Beth and DeVere Harward will be celebrating their golden wedding anniversary July 22, 1993, with a family dinner. A recital will be given by JB at 7:30 p.m. that evening in the Fountain Green Chapel. The public is welcome. They were married July 22, 1943, in the Manti LDS Temple and have lived most of their married lives in Chester. Their children are: Boyd (JB) and DeDe Harward of San Diego, Ca.; Roger Harward, Chester, and Cassandra and Jeff Allred of Spring City. They have 10 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. The family has requested no gifts please. A reception will honor them that evening from 7 to 9 at the Cedar North LDS Stake Center. The bridegroom served in the Tulsa, OK LDS Mission and is a member of the Utah National Guard. He is currently attending Southern Utah University. He is the grandson of Helen Lasson Mt. Pleasant and the late Edgar E. Lasson. and Mrs. Bryant J. Schroeder formerly of Salt Lake City, announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Elinor Jane, to Brett Jay Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Erwin J. Smith of Mt. Pleasant. The couple will be married Friday, July 23, 1993. A reception will be held in their honor that evening from 7 to 8:30 at the Johnson Home, 9 Dawn Hill, Sandy. An open house will be held Tuesday, Aug. 3, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Skyline The couple will make their home in Cedar City. Kevin Lasson, Staci Rollo Frank, Mildred Peterson to observe 60th wedding date Mountain Resort, north of Mt. Pleasant. The bride is a graduate of East High School. She also attended BYU. The bridegroom is a graduate of North Sanpete High. He was active in football and wrestling. Both are members of the Utah National Guard and both served in Desert Storm. They are both employed by the Utah National Guard at Camp Williams. They will make their home in Sandy. Brett Smith, Elinor Schroeder MORONI Grandchildren of John L. and Ether O. The group toured the LDS Church Museum in Salt Lake City; had dinner at the Manti Stake Center, attended the Mormon Miracle Pageant and the Ute Stampede. She is the wife of Brad Aagard, the daughter of Verla Olson Smith and the late Russell Olson, and the mother of four (Alyson, Amanda and Jessica). MT. PLEASAN- T- Lifetime resident, Ellis Hansen recently celebrated his 80th birthday in Salt Lake City with family members. He was born July 11, 1913, to Oree and Neola E. Hansen. He attended Hambleton Elementary and North Sanpete High School. After a brief stint in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), he served in the U.S. Army during World War II with General Omar Bradleys Twelfth Army. He participated in the June 6 invasion of Europe and was wounded in Belgium Sept. 6, 1944. He spent time in army hospitals in Belgium, England and the United States. He received the EAME ribbon, two bronze service stars, a purple heart and other medals. He is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and until his health failed participated in military rites over the graves of war veterans. For 35 years he was ground maintenance man for Wasatch Academy. Upon his retirement, several trees were planted in his honor on the Academy grounds. Olsen reunion FOUNTAIN SPRING CIT- Y- Frank E. and Mildred Knud-se- n Peterson will observe their sixtieth wedding anniversary July 26, 1993. MT. PLEASAN- T- Colleen Jensen of Mt. Pleasant has been named Sanpete Valley Hospitals employee of the month. She has been employed at the hospital for five years, working in the lab and business office. Prior to that she was a hospital volunteer for two years. She has four children: Terri, Vickie, Kevin and Karen; and 15 grandchildren. She is well known for her art work and lovely decorations, and is active in church and community affairs. INSTRUCTOR, THEATRE ARTS Mildred, Frank Peterson SPRING CIT- Y- Theron K. Madsen and his family recently celebrated his eightieth birthday at the home of his daughter, Maureen Johnson, in Lindon. Born in Spring City on July 6, g 1913, he has been a resident. He married Thelma Bradley of Moroni on July 30, 1935, in Fountain Green; the marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He is a High Priest in the Spring City Second LDS Ward and is a charter member of the Spring City Lions Club. He has worked as a r, in the forest service, at Magna Smelter and as foreman of the B and B gang for the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad where he retired after 33 years. The Madsens have five children: Gordon, Ogden; Donnell, Price; Maureen Johnson, Lindon; Bruce and Gay Lynne, both deceased. Qualifications: Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre. Special consideration to those who have a background in dir ectingac ting, costume design and construction, experience as a n andor lighting designer. Ability in set construction also highly desirable.
