North Sanpete traveled to Park City and Morgan Tuesday; The team will host South Summit Friday at 3 and 5 p.m. In last weeks action, NS in a record defeated Manti 4 offensive battle. Sadie Christensen started the game as pitcher; Jaynette Dodd relieved her, and Maria Cook pitched the last two innings to become the winning pitcher. The team set a record seven home runs during the game: Sadie Christensen hit three home runs; Natalee Allred, Tawnya Crumb, Jaynette Dodd, and Maranda Curtis each hit one home run. Hawks 17-1- The JV team beat Manti 27-Shannon Bailey was the winning pitcher. In practice games, North Sanpete defeated San Juan 37-Jaynette Dodd pitched with Heather Pyper as catcher. The JV lost a squeaker, NS was defeated by Union 5 g battle. The in a Hawks had two errors which cost them the game. Maria Cook was the losing pitcher. She struck out nine batters and walked only three. Union struck out one and walked one. Olson was the winning pitcher. Sanpete woman bowlers competing in the 1993 Utah Womens Bowling Association Annual Tournament during March at Lakeside Lanes and at Ben Lomond Lanes in Ogden include: In the Doubles Handicap Event, Jeannette Sampson and Joy Lyons took 34th place and won $40.50 with a score of 1374; Jerry Ann Nunley and Majorie Decker took 64th place and $29 with 1353; Lorie Hardy and Lolly Holden took 77th place and won $26.40 with 1350; Dot Duncan and Becky Kjar were 84th and won $25.32 with 1347; and LuGene Nielson and LaRue Johnson were 98th and won $23 with 1338. In the Singles Handicap Event, Diane Lund was 27th and won $36 with 729; Dot Duncan was 51st and won $23 with 717; Jackie Zabriskie was 60th and won $22.25 with 714, and Gloria Johnson was 234th and won $3 with 683. In All Events Scratch, Gloria Johnson tied with 10 others for 61st place and won $7 with 1635. In All Events Handicap, Lolly Holden took 14th and won $42 for 2083; Gloria Johnson was 117th with 2007 and Dot Duncan was 118th with 2006, both winning $7; Diane Lund tied with three others for 150th with 1991 and Lori Bagley tied with five others for 174th with 1982, both winning $6. Nominations accepted for FmHA offices Farmers MANTI Home Administration (FmHA) is accepting nominations for Sanpete County Committee elections. Nominations will be accepted in the Sanpete County FmHA office until May 19, according to a news release from Roger L. Nielson FmHA county supervisor. Eligible voters may nominate candidates by petition Copies of the petition and instructions on its completion can be obtained from you local FmHA office. Individuals nominated should have an interest in a farm as an owner, tenant or sharecropper. PLEASAN- T- North High School Music Department has recently won region and state honors in several competitions. .The schools concert choir directed by Roy Ellefsen won superior ratings from both judges and was awarded the trophy for outstanding choir in Region 9. Two vocal groups and a clarinet quartet won superior ratings at the region solo and ensemble Sanpete contest at Grant High School last month. Kristen Benge, Taralyn Benge, Dixie Hansen, Marianne Dyches, Jacob Parnell, Jeremy Madsen, Spencer Cox and Sean Ellefsen sang in the octet. The girls trio included: Kristin Benge, Taralyn Benge, and Dixie Hansen. Those participating in the clarinet group were: Kristin Benge, Dixie Hansen, Wasatch earns high rating MT. PLEASAN- T- Wasatch earned an excellent rating and fourth place overall at the State Drama Meet April 16 and 17 in Salt Lake City. Don Peavy, a junior from Bozeman, MT, won best supporting actor for his role in the play. Wasatchs entry in the one-aplay competition was "The Odd Couple" (female version) written by Neil Simon. Cast members were: Pete Mitrabhakdi, Don Peavy, Jamie Dorey, Bena Krato-chvi- l, Anna Masayesva, Dusti Nichols, Toni Chan, Emily Academy Thomas, Craig McFarland stage manager and Brendan Byrne sound technician.
