Show 'age Four The Pyramid April 9, 1986 Couple to note 70th anniversary EPHRAIM The children of Mr. and Mrs. LaVor Taylor, will honor their parents at their 70th wedding anniversary on Saturday, April 19, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Ephraim 2nd Ward Cultural Hall. The reception is open to all friends and relatives and they request no gifts. The couple were married on May 2, 1916 in the Manti LDS Temple. LaVor was bom in Ephraim to Tom and Hannah Taylor. His mother died in 1908 when he was 12 years old. At an early age, he was shining shoes for pennies and doing whatever he could to find work. At age 16, he began shearing sheep with his father. He did this for 10 years and in 1921 went to barber college in Salt Lake and began his barber practice in Ephraim in 1922 at The bell, of Hacienda Heights, Calif.; and Zane Taylor Orem. and 16 They have 14 grandchildren Living FamilyWeddings Anniversaries Foods , of MT. After completing high school, she graduated from Snow College having earned a teachers certificate. She attended the University of Utah in 1915. After nine years of marriage, LaVor and Marguerite combined resources and opened a combined beauty r shop which was called LaMargueritea Beauty Shop. LaVor sheared people in the winter and left early in the spring to shear sheep. In 1945, he was elected president of the Sheep Shearers Union of North America and served for 12 years in Butte, Mont. The next meeting will be held ' April 17 at the home of Jean Averett, according to reporter Arlene An- 1 derson. : Open house to honor couple on anniversary -- NEPHI The family of Clair and Della Collard will honor their parents at an open house on their 50th Wedding Anniversary, Saturday, April 12 from 2 until 4 p m. in the Nephi 7th LDS Ward, 222 South 100 East. The couple were married on April 7, 1936 and have resided in Fountain Green, Mills, Levan and Nephi. Mr. Collard spent his life farming in Fountain Green and Mills where he worked horses and raised cattle. Mrs. Collard is a homemaker. The Collards have been active in the LDS Church, and he served as bishop in the Levan Ward for nine years and as a member of the Juab Stake High Council for ten years. Mrs. Collard taught Primary for ten years and was a Relief Society Visiting Teacher class leader for 14 year. Both have held other church positions. The couple have three children: Mrs. Burl (Uene) Morley, Garland; Mrs. Don (Renae) Dastrup, Kanab; and Mrs. Dick (Mary) Potter of Chester, Ida. They have 12 grandchildren and four Friends and family are invited to attend the open house. Pleasant H FOUNTAIN GREEN Ivan Langley and Oleta Allred Bailey will be honored by their children on their 50th wedding anniversary, Thursday, April 10, with a dinner and special program in the Womens Club House in Provo. The couple was married April 8, 1936, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Bailey was born in Nephi, to Langley Allgood and Elva Bigler Bailey. Mrs. Bailey was bom in Fountain Green, daughter of Ole A. and Malinda Carter Allred. They have made Fountain Green their home. Mr. Bailey has been a sheep and dairy farmer most of his life. He has also been employed at the Thermoid Rubber Company in Nephi, from which he retired in 1972, after having worked there for 22 years. He has held many positions in the LDS Church including 14 years as a counselor in the Fountain Green Ward Bishopric, and a member of the ward choir for 48 years. Mrs. Bailey worked for 15 years in the First Security Bank in Nephi, retiring from this position in 1978. She has held many stake and ward positions in the Relief Society and Young Womens Organizations, and ward choir. Both have been active in community affairs, and enjoy traveling. They are the parents of three children: Mrs. Victor (Joyce) Oldroyd, Provo; Dr. James Ivan Bailey, Price, and Mrs. J. Dee (Linda Jean) Beck of Orem. Th y have 14 grandchildren. Charles Larsen was born on January 11, 1906, in Lake Shore, to Charles John Marinus and Lydia Wiseman Larsen. He was reared in Adamsville by the Jones family following the death of his mother. Zola Lateen was born on May 31, 1913 in Elmo, to Samuel Alger, and Juila Adelaide Sanderson. They met in Pioche, Nev. and were married on April 16, 1936 in the Manti LDS Temple. The Larsens spent most of their married life in Carbon and Emery Counties where he worked in the coal mines. They moved to Manti 11 years ago to serve as temple workers and still reside there. They have always been active in the LDS Church and held many positions. The couple are parents of five children: David E., Bountiful; Mrs. Richard A. (Julia) Prue, LaMar, Miss.; C.
