Sheriff warns against bunco dealers MANTI Sanpete County Sheriff Kennard Anderson this week warned county residents to beware of people who may . come through the area wanting to do roofing or cement finishing. The Sheriff says reports have come in from the southern part of the county and from Juab that residents have been contacted about these jobs, have given the person money in advance for materials, and have never seen the person or the money again. Anyone who is contacted about any work such as this should ask the person for a city license, the Sheriff said. Mary Gilgen, Assistant Regional PTA Director presented the award to Moroni Elementary PTA President, LaDawn Rawlings, and Principal Francis Black at the PTA Carnival held last Friday in the Moroni City Park. On hand to observe the presentation were school district officers: Superintendent Harold Johnson, Bernus Blackham, Ron Ivory, and Reed Miller. The extremely active PTA group was judged on the many good quality activities they have sponsored during the past year. They have doubled their membership during this time, they have volunteered their help with the they have produced a most outstanding newsletter, they sponsored the Halloween parade and carnival, they held an Emergency Book-mobil- e, Preparedness meeting, they have sponsored art programs and a They also held an Early Bird Read-A-Tho- breakfast and Carnival for the children. In their art program, Reflections, entries were submitted. Several of these were Regional winners and went on to State competition. In their RIF program, the money enough was collected to buy five books for each child in school. The big reason behind this kind of success was 67 volunteers giving 2000 . 206 Read-A-Tho- volunteer hours by parents and teachers working together in order to bring quality programs in to the lives of the children.
